Nov 18, 2008 - There is no easier or better way to create music. Simply, all the BEST hip hop producers ( Dj Premier, J-Dilla ) used the mpc. Mpc can do much more than you think.

Nov 18, 2008 - been trying to save sample on my MPC 1000 all morning just says 'Create Error' can anyone help me ???? cant find anything on google thus far : (
Markbeats Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - That Prem and Dilla or Pete Rock use it doesnt mean its the best tool to make beats. The MPC just has been a tradition in Hip-Hop for years long and it was the standard before computer software. i think software can handle things the MPC can easier and in less time.

JIMBO95 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - well the thing is most samplers sample at 32 bits or higher the mpc's samples at 12 or 16 bit which has a gritty thick sound to anything you sample and most people like the work flow of the mpc's but as in all equip do what you like to use
GuitarGodgt Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Yes but there are bit crusher plugins that can knock a sample down to how ever many bits you like (be it 16, 10, 8, 4 etc...).I'm guessing it has nothing to do with the sound and more to do with nostalgia.
JayPirat Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - must be "acm waveformat"

dblock5150 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - yeai agree theres way more programs out there on the computer that are just like mpc's for example Fruity Loops thats an all time favorite but i say depending on who you are you could be Good With Clicking a Mouse.Or you can be good at punding on buttons..me, i dont make beats but my bro does and he uses his mouse..but i think id be better off Pundin Buttons cuz you get more feel of what you wanna make.
Markbeats Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Thats how most producers do it.Just recreate the bassline thats in the sample. And lay that on top of the Low Pass Filtered sample. Its pretty hard to do but you just gotta keep trying to play around till you got the right notes.
Markbeats Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - True, thats what the MPCs are better for the hardware feel of pushing buttons.Computers must have got some latency when you use a midi-controller.I like the recording of what you play on the MPC as well but i rather chop my samples on a computer cause its way faster and have a piano roll to fix my sequences if the timing isnt right for the notes ive played. To each his own.
FALL0FMAN Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - if u have a good computer u wont get latency, i dont
dblock5150 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Yea usin a computer to chop or sample is way more easier..i gotta save up tho and get an Mpc or sumtin..hopefully if i help out my friend get a record deal cuz hes a Rapper/Producer..if i can get him signed then he will become rich and he can buy me an mpc lol..2k's hella expensive for the way the economy is right now..lolBut yea..

Nov 18, 2008 - Its always nice to see someone who knows the ins and outs of their gear, someone who actually practices and is able to pull of something beautiful. This is a tight beat man, you got mad talent.
GuitarGodgt Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - It's not that, I just don't get why people oogle this thing like it's the greatest? I'm not against any tool to create music, I can't say I am a huge fan of rap music but I respect it for the talent that it contains (or sometimes doesn't lol).I just feel there are better/easier ways of doing what the mpc does.Just an opinion. I hear the mpc does some interesting things to samples (like make them sound good).
