His voice range allows playing roles written for male altos or sopranos. He could sing must of Rossini and Donizetti's altos or soprano roles (some written specifically for castratos).

There are obvious cultural differences with the west. Okamoto's costume remembers well the samurai or imperial court men's costumes, perfectly integrated into Japan culture.
