Jul 7, 2008 - Turkeys are so stupid I really don't think they care! Sounds like the people that made this are stupid too, cause AI is not sexual contact. It is for the effeciancy of the producer for mass production. Natural breeding takes 10x longer. They don't just do it to be sickos!

Jul 7, 2008 - Good point. I am so glad you're willing to "speak up" to tell it like it is...I agree that the turkeys are so incredibly stupid. They belong in the oven! Period! I am so tired of the looney-tune people who keep crying about it. Let's see them build farms to store turkeys that will never sit frozen or packaged in the supermarkets. No idiot would waste money doing that.
missycow15 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - Haha, thanx! I hate ignorant people, they believe every twisted thing they see and hear. Idiots!
JDonahue79 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - I stil think it's cruel. Just because they are stupid doesn't mean that you can torture these turkeys. They still feel pain, and they still live misurable lives.I ain't no vegetarian (as I do eat meat for nutritional means), but this practice is unacceptable. Instead, I insist on buying organic meat productions from a better place where they can actually provide a more friendly enviornment for the turkeys.

Jul 7, 2008 - I work on a turkey farm and yes they are stupid if you were to put its head in a bucket of water its too dumb to pull it out trust me i would know ...

Jul 7, 2008 - Going by these last 3 comments about stupidity. Lets hope for your sake aliens don't decide to colonize this planet and decide that uncompassionate and unjust people are too stupid to live. ;) PS it was only last century that society condoned experimenting on disabled children. Open your mind. Difference doens't mean their life is disposable

Jul 7, 2008 - Oh they are so mistreated! Give me a break, the birds are in perfect health.
fuerTiere Says:
sandinyourshoes Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - I agree. People get too politically correct over everything. These are the fattest turkey hens I have ever seen. Look at how one of the wobbles in the upper right-hand corner at 3:02! Fat turkeys with a full set of feathers are eating well to me.
cutless74 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - Hey what do you do for a living? Well Bob I jack off turkeys. how do you explain your job to a girlfriends parents? who would want to?
c4yerself Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - If you're paying even the most remote bit of attention to the video, you'll note that these turkeys are "fat" because they have been bred to grow faster than their bodies can reasonably handle. This is, in fact, the very reason why artificial insemination is necessary in this industry; natural reproduction is impossible because a male would crush the female if he attempted to mount her.
sandinyourshoes Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - No doubt. The meat packers are determined to make big sales by selling more of these super-fat turkeys. People buy all the time. Many insist on non-frozen birds and prefer having one freshly slaughtered especially for the holidays. The issue is that no one is going to fall all over himself to monitor these farms. How would one do it? Do we hire a crew of "turkey watchdogs" to make sure the birds get improved living conditions? Who would pay their salaries? Might they take bribes?
GRAFFMEX Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - ya know, life is not pretty. all these whining people don't want to go out and raise, then kill their own food, but they will damn sure buy and eat these animals. GROW UP PEOPLE!
STVeeoom Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - Eh, them or us.
c4yerself Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - Actually, many of "these whining people" don't HAVE to raise and kill their own food because they've learned to eat without consuming any animal products. You know, what's really sad about parroting the factory farming industry's propaganda is that they really are basically laughing at you while they rake in your cash. They don't care about you or the environment, as long as you keep giving them money.
GRAFFMEX Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - we are omnivores. that's how we were created. eating animals and animal products are part of our diet since the dawn of man. "parroting the factory farming industry's propaganda"? are you serious? i don't ever recall receiving a pamphlet from the factory farming industry. but i did grow up in the country, and i was able to see the things people do in order to put food on people's tables. it is an essential part of who we are, and i'm sorry but most people don't want to learn to avoid meat
