Oct 11, 2008 - IIRC, wasn't there something well-known about this game?

Oct 11, 2008 - I'll always miss two things when looking at this piece:-the Forum, as this was the last Laker game ever played there. I feel, even after nearly a decade later, ashamed to have never seen a Laker game there as a kid.-the NBA on NBC, since it's coverage gave me joy in my childhood. Today, my teen, and soon college, years, in watching the NBA suck, since ABC sucks at televising the NBA. Also, ABC never found an intro song to stick to; NBC had Roundball Rock for their duration, and is timeless.

Oct 11, 2008 - I know how you feel, I've lived in New England my whole life and only managed to make it to Boston Garden three times, once for a Bruins game to see Adam Oates, once in 1993 to see Kevin McHale, and again in the final season (1995) Fleet Center/TD Banknorth Garden just is not the same. Absolute travesty Boston Garden and The Forum are gone. Those two arenas meant more to basketball than Madison Square Garden! Those three stadiums should still stand today. So what if seats had obstructed view!!!

dbadefense1990 Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - To me, there are 3 precious NBA arenas that should never have closed:-The Forum, close to my heart.-Boston Garden, close to yours.-Chicago Stadium, close to Chicagoans, especially in the late 80s-early 90s.All 3 buildings were menacing to opponents, were historical landmarks in my view, and represented the character of their respective city. By the way, are you praising MSG, because you call travesty on the Garden and Forum, but said, "...Those THREE stadiums should still stand today..."?

alamoro Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - Ill Miss a couple of things too, If I might add.One the Spurs punishing the lakers and watching those Laker Cry babies. Then watching my kids laugh at watching Fisher and Kobe Cry like GIRLS, we Loved it.Then watching ESPN and ABC take this game with the SPURS to a whole new level. Kids around the world and coaches know defense wins championships, nice. The Spurs have overhauled all the teams with thugs and teams have had to adjust to beat the Spurs.

alamoro Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - Now that was Timeless.

Norima79 Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - Actually, The Forum still stands. It was sold a church that holds it's sunday service and they still allow dates to be booked for concerts and other events.

thatdudecozz89 Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - I've never visited a precious NBA Arena...Mainly due to the fact that I am from Raleigh, North Carolina and lived in New Bern, NC for the majority of the NBA on NBC era...But, I liked the Spectrum, Omni, Charlotte (N.C.) Coliseum, Chicago Stadium, Forum, Boston Garden, Market Square Arena and the Capital Centre'/USAir Arena...I'm about to be 19 in a month and the NBA in my toddler, elementary and some of my middle school years owns the NBA in my High School and soon-to-be college years, as well.

oobah2 Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - hell yeah. now that's how you do an intro.

arod889 Says:
