Oct 8, 2008 - Caught them at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in 1982. 26 years ago. And they scared the living crap out of me and blew my mind. In person? TIGHT! TOUGH! BAD-ASS BAND!

potatomachine Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - This song could be considered a sort of opening sequence tune for post-modernity: the gates of steel could be discouse, meaning, truth, etc., and thus we've twisted away these gates: the prison bars of meaning, and we open onto the void, where everything is in Danger.
elvispelt Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - What potatomachine said. Twice.

Oct 8, 2008 - I saw DEVO in San Antonio, circa 1980. Whoever the fool was that ran the show placed about 1,000 folding metal chairs for the audience. Hilarity ensued.
Devito46 Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - I saw them in February 1982 in Melbourne, as a welcome present from my Australian girlfriend. It was 50 degrees Centigrade (no exaggeration...) and they played so good, so firm, and live so strong...and the sound ? Per-fect. I was flabbergasted. Most people were to hot to listen straight up. And DEVO was just going...and took their brakes for the different (album) costumes. Brilliant show !! Loved them before. Loved them ever since... I was all DEVO.
Pitumisio Says:
Oct 8, 2008 - Well said Tanner. Welcome to Devo's timeless music world.
