Sep 5, 2008 - There's so many...It's what they're raised on (public schools and TV).It frees them of any responsibility for the world around them.Bullcrap is usually packaged better (bullcrap relies heavily on appealing aesthetics). Who get more girls (just as an example): nerds or jocks? Aesthetics often trumps content. People are shallow in order to escape introspection (which can be painful and requires responsibility) and hard work.

Sep 5, 2008 - Learning is hard work. People take the path of least resistance.Learning/intelligence is stigmatized. People don't want to be "uncool".So... there's a few. I'm pretty sure there are many more.

Sep 5, 2008 - public schools are necessary. people are forced to go through school from ages 5-18. should they "join the workforce" at that age? what educational system do you suggest we use?have people watch youtube videos which preach astrology or creationism?when education is an option, not a mandate, only those able to afford not working learn how to to read.usually, i agree with your views, but this one is just unfathomable.

Sep 5, 2008 - I agree with your opposition to public schools. we have given the power to shape the minds of future generations to politicians and that is way too much power not to mention foolish to believe they will do a good job

Sep 5, 2008 - "have people watch youtube videos which preach astrology or creationism?" how about not forcing people to do anything and allowing parents to raise there children in the way they see fit?
