Which is largely why this song hasn't really got any emotional punch. Basically just a guy doing a few pleasant chords and finger picking with some singing to vary it up.He knows nothing of the real troubles such as are being experienced in a country called Georgia next to Russia. If he did, his songs would have such intensity you would cry.

And maybe his idea of strife was rather pathetic compared to others, but to be a good songwriter, you have to expand and enlarge your emotions to make it seem larger than life.And I'm almost positive he knows nothing about the problem in Georgia. But he was only singing about the state. I understand where your opinion derivates from eschelar, but I just think it's not fair to judge a person's character b/c of a song he writes.

John Mayer can make girls cry easily. He's brilliant, and just because his chords and strumming arent as complex doesnt mean he isnt any good.
