Sep 5, 2008 - VC and Audemars Piguet are probably in the same class. But Lange, IWC, Jaeger etc are in a class below. Rolexes are much more casual and less formal.

Sep 5, 2008 - Is my patek watch broken sometime it move and sometime it dont?
kingcyruslee Says:
Sep 5, 2008 - my patek move only when i shake it . is it broken or it just like that?
azaas Says:
Sep 5, 2008 - LANGE in a class below???You're kiding me right?Anyway, everyone's entitled to their own opinion,so in my humble opinion Lange is at the same class with PP,VC,JLC,BREGUET etc I'm talking from the mechanics perspective.31 days of power reserve in a mechanical wristwatch...that's what i call a mechanical marvel.
MI6MI5 Says:
Sep 5, 2008 - You mean in your opinion, Rolex, IWC, Jaeger Le Coultre, Blancpain, Ulysse Nardin, Lange & Sohne Audemars Piguet, Breguet, Vacheron Constantin are in the same class?
azaas Says:
Sep 5, 2008 - Definatelly not Rolex or IWC etc And before you ask DEFINATELLY NOT SEIKO!!!! hehe just kiding.Lange & Sohne though and Breguet are for sure in the same class with VC and PP.After all the Tourbillon, that both PP and VC have used in some models, was invented by Breguet! So yeah...both lange and breguet, again imho, are in the same level with PP and VC.And not just in mechanisms, but in design,in material quality,in mechanism's decoration etc.Again this is just my opinion :)
MI6MI5 Says:
Sep 5, 2008 - Well according to price, Patek fetches a lot more than Lange & Breguet.
azaas Says:
Sep 5, 2008 - hmmm and that proves what xactly?Since when was price a proof of higher quality?Hublot's big bang costs more than any PP out there.Does that make it a better watch?Ppl like you pay off the marketing guysAccording to the price...according to the price almost every ferrari is supperior to a mercedes...That argument was simply put EPIC FAIL!!Get a better one next time and plz do some research on watches and what really matters when it comes to watches.or you can keep paying off the marketing guys
MI6MI5 Says:
Sep 5, 2008 - Ah excuse me? How the hell can a Hublot Big Bang cost more than ANY PP? Tell me how can a manufacture a high quality watch with let say $10? Watches are expensive either because of jewelery (eg. diamonds etc) or because of quality and how complicated they are. Oh yeah and really can't compare a Merc to Ferrari.
azaas Says:
Sep 5, 2008 - i was talking about the million $ one,but that is due to the diamonds..you're right on that one. What i was trying to say is that the cost of complications, and materials used overall in the watch is always up to a certain point. For example take a lange DOUBLE split sec chrono (128k$) and a PP split sec chrono (241k)...the lange comes with a more complicated mech yet the PP costs 113k more...does that make sense to you???This is where u pay the marketing..go ahead and do that.Just not my thing..
azaas Says:
Sep 5, 2008 - and yes i know that the PP comes with a perpetual calendar BUT you can buy another PP Perpetual calendar with around 60k so there are about 50 k MORE that you need to find what exactly EXTRA you bought for that money...if i had let's say 250k i'd buy the lange and a rolex perpetual calendar...then i'd hit that Merc->so i'd end up with 2 great watches and a car, while you'd rave about how great your PP is (jk)..to end this, sometimes it seems you're paying too much for a tag, don't you think?

Sep 5, 2008 - Great Video, thanks !One observation about the high quality of Patek, other fine Swiss manufacturers that is confirmed by the fervent discussion and disagreements of others here:The quality and methodologies we're witnessing here used to be common in 50 years ago in most manufacturing and since quality is replaced by commoditization (which has its own merits) it creates the opportunity to even argue about whether or not a Hublot or Patek is better. Nice video !
