Aug 21, 2008 - The problem of picking a lesser of 2 poisons is the fact that you still end up toxically ill.

varange2 Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - Maher is right: the bullshit "al qaeda" rhetoric is wearing thin now.

ltflermy Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - I missed his name, but the black gentleman is very articulate and dead on right. All this crap about Rev. Wright is so much media crap, and I'm fucking sick and tired of the media in the US contaminating politics for corporate will. Corporations don't vote, but they make your vote meaningless.

Aug 21, 2008 - CLASSIC OPENING.

shahidinia Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - "'America has never surrendered.' Bullshit, they surrendered in the war he [McCain] was in. Whad'ya think leaving off the roof of embassy in Saigon was?" LMFAO!!

todnyc Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - notice how when Maher actually makes of those brilliant points--you know, the truth--it just sort of hangs there for a second and then one of the guests brings up something else

mitllibrat Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - To watch Tavis Smiley totally dominate the discussion with his knowledge and tact and the reaction of his other white panelists was very revealing-racism is alive and kicking.

shahidinia Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - Yeah I agree, my friend. Additionally, I hate the many times on this show where the truth--as we believe it--is said loud and clear...yet no one applauses. One could definitely see that in other episodes.

buttonmonkey01 Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - Robert Klein suck. Another good reason why stupid old men should just !!!!SHUT THE FCUK UP!!!!

addictedtogaming Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - thats true, but it took you this long to realize that? just watch any 24 hour news network try to dance around Obama. It's like silent racism even.

ghstwrld Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - The name you're looking for is Tavis Smiley. Google him immediately.

chris14091975 Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - Travis made a good point about what King and Barak's paster said... That is a good one.

beddykatp Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - I don't always agree with Tavis but he's really hit on the head with his comparison to Obama's pastor and MLK. The media turned MLK into some mythical non-threatening social activists. He was bugged and closely watched they were hellbent on sabotaging his public image and private life he was so "non-threatening"/end sarcasm.I fell for the mythical image too until I did my own research.

jfleshdprop Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - Great debate.

miaangel345 Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - I don't think Jeremiah Wright should be compared to MLK.They have/had similar views, yeah but what MLK did was extraodinary! Some of what Rev Wright said was very racist and I don't agree with it. I happen to be black too!

bamboo4tameshigiri Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - What King said was the truth and that's what got him killed.

xinosila Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - they all forget to mention that mlk made those statements during a much more racially suppressive time in america!!! he should in now way be compared to wright, as his speeches were much more valid and relevant at that time than wright's are today.

lysscatherine Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - I don't agree with xinosila. I think Reverend Wright's life and career more than deserves to be compared to MLK. He is a leader in his community and offers a vessel for Black people to discuss the difficulties that continue to plague their lives.I stand by Reverend Wright
