May 14, 2008 - This was very interesting video. I´ve got this surgery at Finland about seven weeks ago and I´ve lost 21 kilograms (about 46 pounds). My feel is great! This surgery helps many people weight loss and sametime get well.Sorry my english, it´s not very good .

KELLACF Says:

May 14, 2008 - It's clearly a very successful procedure, however not without it's risks and complications and should by no means be regarded as 'great surgery for everyone overweight'.

l4uRisbg Says:

May 14, 2008 - Looks so cool, but certainly nothing for "everyone overweight"! Sport and a healthy diet should be the first and most important step!

xkgb Says:

May 14, 2008 - How about you just dont eat as much?

tvc1120 Says:

May 14, 2008 - when your a certain size thats not enough.....

xkgb Says:

May 14, 2008 - yes it is

May 14, 2008 - IMPORTANT NOTE: When you've decided to get this operation, please make sure to have your surgeon use the safest and best endoscopic stapler..Endo GIA Universal. If the surgeon uses any other product, you will automitcally be at greater risk for staple line break down and staple line leaks (potentially deadly). Make sure the GOLD STANDARD is used in your surgery. Best of luck!

May 14, 2008 - That person is obviously ignorant. Don't mind them.

eanogustomo Says:

May 14, 2008 - why is the previous patient(rick pacheco) loose weight to the point that he looks unhealthy? the wife looks okay but not the husband. i also notice that the lady surgeon is a good candidate to this kind of procedure. she is chubby too, lol.

DCFRawLz Says:

May 14, 2008 - i love how they literally burn through fat with the artho . . . tool. that was kind of cool.

May 14, 2008 - what a fascinating video

ifyoufly Says:

May 14, 2008 - This is very informative and inspires me to learn. I've seen many that, post bypass, have become unnaturally thin. Is it diet vs. stomach size?

AtmaStorm Says:

May 14, 2008 - You mean obese. 'Overweight' is used to describe people with excess body fat but generally not enough to cause health problems. Additionally, I cannot agree with you saying that it's a 'great surgery' for everyone. There are -serious- risk factors involved, even when it's considered non-invasive.

ButuFly Says:

May 14, 2008 - No it isn't. Everyone has a different body that doesn't always allow them to burn fat and function like others.

xkgb Says:

May 14, 2008 - Sure, then why dodnt we come up with surgery that allows to us shit 5 times us much.Dont tell me that americans have diff. bodyes then the rest of the world. We are what we eat my friend.

ButuFly Says:

May 14, 2008 - No need to be anal about it, I simply was given you a personal view of something. I went through it and I know what worked and what didn't work. This was a health decision. Let's hope you don't have problems useing the bathroom that it puts your health at risk.

xkgb Says:

May 14, 2008 - No i do not,sorry if i offended you.

dryogeshmehta Says:

May 14, 2008 - congratulations for the nice presentation. You have covered almost all the issues during the discussion. except the cost factor. In the country like mine, where majority of the people are not insured, or this surgery is not covered under isssurence, what is the alternative to the use of so many stapllers.? can the indurstry think of this problem?? that will really make this surgery available to the common people in the country like mine. Good luck.

May 14, 2008 - I had Gastric bypass surgery Sept 28, 2005. I had no complications and went from 333 pounds to 185. I had trouble over the holidays with wanting to snack, resulting in gaining about 20 pounds. I get very disgusted with myself after going through all i have. The problem is the dealing with cravings, the mental part that you had before surgery. Thank you again for letting us view the surgery. and Congrats to the couple shown for a job well done!!!

May 14, 2008 - I agree.
