The Dassault Rafale is a French twin-engined delta-wing highly agile multi-role fighter aircraft designed and built by Dassault Aviation. Dassault uses "Omni Role" as a marketing term in an effort to differentiate the aircraft from other "multi-role" fighters that have primary and secondary roles. Dassault also uses the term to indicate the Rafale's ability to switch from one role to another during a single sortie, although the term is mostly meant to encapsulate the fact that the Rafale is replacing seven specialised planes.From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rafale

Sep 5, 2008 - Με 110.000.000 ευρω που εχει το κομματι για μενα καλυτερα θα ηταν να περιμενουμε καμια 5αετια ακομα ωστε να δουμε αν μπορει να αντιμετωπισει το f35 που απο το 2015 θα αρχισουν να παραλαμβανουν οι απεναντι. Γιατι αν ειναι να δωσουμε 6δις ευρω για αεροπλανο που σε 6-7 χρονια θα ειναι κατωτερο αυτου των Τουρκων την βαψαμε.Αν θες περισοτερες πληροφοριες υπαρχει μεγαλη συζητηση στο φορουμ του defencenet gr. Sep 5, 2008 - To F-35 έχει vertical takeoff (χρήσιμο αν τα έχεις σε αεροπλανοφόρο), thrust vectoring, maneuverability, stealth και πολλά datalinks με επίγιους σταθμούς. Στους απέναντι κοστίζουν λίγο γιατί συμετέχουν στο πρόγραμμα JSF. Πιθανόν το ξεπούλημα του ΟΤΕ και άλλα εθνικά εγγλήματα να έχουν κάποιο στρατιγικό σκοπό.

Sep 5, 2008 - Almost right but not exactly! The Dassault Rafale was designed in 1982 -three years before France gets out of the Eurofighter-Program. The France Navy looked for a new carrier-fighter, so they started with the ACX -Program at 1979 but the finaly outline came in 1982 by Dassault Aviation. First flight- July 4th 1986. First flight of the Eurofighter- March 27th 1994. Finaly designed in 1985.
