Oct 11, 2008 - I was wondering: When a song is used in a film, say Down with the Sickness or so on, do the film studios have to pay the band or record company to use the song?
francisstokesdotcom Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Yes they do.

Oct 11, 2008 - Hey Francis:You have probably been asked this question already, but do you know about the film "Hot Rod"? How do you feel about it? It seems similar to your film.

Oct 11, 2008 - It's sort of your worst nightmare as an artist, to work on something for years and then have someone else, someone bigger, come along and do something just like it. I finished this movie in 2003. But what 'Hot Rod' did is it forced me to get my movie out there right away, which is how you're seeing it on YouTube. Which has been great.

Oct 11, 2008 - I hear you man. Well, good luck with your future adventures in movie making! Hopefully, you can make an independent movie for theaters. Everyone is eagerly anticipating the next "Napoleon Dynamite" r "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"!
Spoofsmanship Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Sorry. That "r" is supposed to be an "or".

Oct 11, 2008 - Is it not? I don't know how YouTube determines what vids are viewable on iPhone. I know "God, Inc." is...

Oct 11, 2008 - Hey the guy who played Harold looked familiar. Wanted to see who he was but can't read the credits at the end because the box is so tiny.
francisstokesdotcom Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - It's John Hawkes ("American Gangster", "Deadwood", "Perfect Storm").

Oct 11, 2008 - Well, I think that he should end up jumping. You could change the perspective to show him jumping off, slow it down, play some music, but fade out before he reaches the bottom. >.> But it you wanted to go for the happy resolution, you could add to the end after that, making him wake up in a hospital room surrounded by his friends and family, where he regains them because they find out the stress that he has gone through, and he rethinks his career as a daredevil in a heartwarming moment. >>

Oct 11, 2008 - That was a fun festival. There were three actor awards given out: to John Hawkes, for this movie, to Elizabeth Moss, who's now on the TV show "Mad Men", and to Brad Renfro. Who's dead.
N00l3 Says:
