Jul 26, 2008 - AFAIK one of the reasons why they drowned was that they inflated their lifejackets inside the cabin - When the water came in they couldn't escape. The journalist Mohamed Amin was thrown against the airplane wall during the crash.I didn't know about people dying on the beach or on boats, though..

Jul 26, 2008 - this is how it looks like when an aircraft is breaking the sound barrier (entering supersonic flight, eg. Mach 1). You can clearly see the cone shape of the condensed air, ie. the white stuff are water droplets (clouds) formed due to the drop in air pressure.

Jul 26, 2008 - Of the WTN with the 747 (?) going down in water, only about 60 (roughly half the passengers) lived. The B-52 if I remember righlty was supposed to have been flown by a drunk pilot (no surprise there) and both Pilots in that near miss with the ground with the MIG-29 at the end lived, but they were lucky to pull it off really, and probably a lot less lucky once they touched back down to ground after writing off that fighter jet in such a public way.

Jul 26, 2008 - the reason the v22 osprey is constantley crashing back in the 90s was because the pilots had flown no aircraft like it, and the airforce engineers couldnt make a simulator

Jul 26, 2008 - The airliner that crashed in the water was a hijacked Ethiopian Airlines 767. The B-52 pilot was not drunk it was merely a case of pilot error, he overbanked the aircraft while being too close to the ground. And a pilot being drunk while flying is an extremely rare event especially in the military, so it would be extremely suprising if there was alcohol involved in the crash. Nearly all pilots observe the "8 hours from bottle to throttle" rule
RockingMinors Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - ya but what about comercial flights. not evrey one ejected out of a 747 before a 100 ft radious explosion

Jul 26, 2008 - I think the last one is the famous crash of the Jordan pilot at the Ostend airshow 1997 in Belgium, crashed right on the audience, many people died, since then all air shows are banned in Belgium.
Vermiliontea Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Italian show group Frecce Tricolori 1988 in Ramstein.About 70 dead and hundreds crippled for life.

Jul 26, 2008 - That B52 Bomber was in Airway Height at Fairchild Air Force Base. My wife went to school with one of the girls dad that died in that crash. I was at home 40 miles away on Mt Spokane and watched the mushroom of fire and Smoke as it happened. They were having a practice run a few days before a show. That show never happened due to this crash. It was insane to see that big of a mushroom knowing it was at the Air force base. I thought a bomb went off.It is still very clear in my mind.
rdw283 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - The Pilot was NOT drunk. He was know for his crazy stunts in B52 bombers. The girls dad I spoke about was over seeing what he was doing. Everyone said he was crazy but he didn't saying he was a good pilot and to prove it he was willing to tag along on the ride. He was not supposed to be on that flight and tagging along cost him his life. After the investigation they found the the craze pull up and bank was to avoid hitting our nuclear bomb storage. I thank the pilot for his last choice he made.

Jul 26, 2008 - Most of the military airplanes used their emergency jump thingy, so that's a few less to count :O.
