EspenBass Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - what about the song damned to hell? and river song? actually river song is kind of special since it was one of the first john ever wrote
HadleyDGRC Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - B F# C# F# A# C#
neilss1 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Its tuned DOWN wouldnt a capo put the tuning up?????
EspenBass Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - standard and put the capo on fourth
EspenBass Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Talk like a big girl/boy, please
Begonias6969 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - tuning is standard just the e is dropped, i forget how much tho, and u dont need a capo, well i dont use one at least
Boyd89 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Sure about that man?I know that's a low B he's got, but I always thought he used an open F# tunings for his lap guitars, and this sounds the same.My educated stab in the dark would be (low to high):B F# C# F# Bb C#If someone could correct or clarify that we'd all be grateful!
Begonias6969 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - im almost 100 percent sure, its one of my favorite songs to play and it sounds exactly the same. plus u can see his middle finger strumming the bottom string the whole time, his thumb and pointer fingers are playing the bass strings
Boyd89 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Exactly, because he doesn't actually play the 2nd string, so technically you could have it in either tuning. But when he strums the harmonic at the end it's DEFINATELY an F#Major, with the 2nd string being the major 3rd Bb.I play in open sus tunings alot, and I'd notice if this was one. It sounds exactly like the slide guitar stuff he does on songs like Happy Home.
Begonias6969 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - yeah, as long as it sounds good either way is fine =D

Jul 26, 2008 - i wanna find someone I feel this way about, great song, instantly up
steveoscaro Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Let me clear up the tuning confusion:It's standard tuning (but tuned down half a step) and with the high eb string tuned down to C#that's how it's played!
Boyd89 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - That low string is definately a B man. The song is in F#, and has a common I - IV - V based chord pattern.I - F#maj, IV - Bmaj, V - C#majLook at this line. I've put in the bass notes.C# B F#All I mind's losing youSee? LolIt's a B.
neilss1 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Its not it sounds right yes bcoz iv tried this tuning but the actual tuning is B F# C# F# B♭ C#. thats the correct tuning alot of people think its open c with a capo on the 6th another incorrect way to play it but me likey the fill at 2.01 learned it lol
neilss1 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - I hate it when people actually fool themselves into thinking its the c# tuning and some think its played in C with a capo on 4th delerious lol
woofythor Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - don't care bout the tuning cos the song is just brilliant, forever on repeat
chazferrari Says:
