I never seen a city so mad (when you I mean mad...) after the Nordiques moved to Denver.Still sucks that 24 out of the 30 NHL teams are set in the US, as most American citizens (except in Michigans, and maybe Minnesota, please forgive me if I forget any) do not care about hockey! They like Basket, Football and Baseball best, which is ok!There would be a lot more cash to do in Winnipeg, Québec City, or some other city in Québec or Ontario, than in Phoenix or Long Island.

Jul 7, 2008 - The problem with the whalers wasnt attendence. It was demographics. Hartford is right between two of the biggest sports cities in the country. Boston and New York. Because of this the whalers were never broadcast on TV.

However it doesn't matter, all 3 teams had better attendance than let's say for example NY Islanders or Ottawa Senators back then and Nordiques even were in the NHL average twice since 1989. It's not attendance that killed those teams it's government failure to support the team financially and the lack of a salary cap back then

They average about 10,000 people in their arenas for games and they dont even sell out playoff games. The fans that they do have are pricks!! The big point is the stanley cup does not belong in carolina! So go on their vids and their fans pages and tell them how huch you want the canes to move back th hartford where they belong!
