Jul 7, 2008 - wow i LOVE the first sound! can i make that sound with just the original DX7?

Jul 7, 2008 - Yes, but the DX7 II play the sound in layer mode.

Jul 7, 2008 - It's great that you redid this demo with a much higher quality sound and the DX7 audio output plugged to your sound card. This show how dual and layer modes can add a lot to FM sounds, especially pads and brasses. You also chose your patches carefully for this particular demo (I can recognize almost all of them). This is almost no surprise for me that a DX7 mkII can approach a PPG sound. This is that mastered correctly, a DX can do almost anything.

Jul 7, 2008 - not exactly! two operators MORE than the 2612. You thinking of the DX100, which IS exactly the same as a megadrive.
