Jul 7, 2008 - I actually saw the scene from the lone ranger were he first decided to use silver bullets it was to hurt them,but not kill them. 1.Ever heard of lead poisoning. 2.This backs it up not as far penetration so less likely to hit internal organs the first consept of non-letal weapons.

Jul 7, 2008 - Lead worked better because of the weight and also the fact that the silver bullet didn't seal in the barrel or the cartridge was a big loss of energy. It might work well if the bullet weight was better matched to the load of powder and if it had a better seal.
