Catholicism is a combination of roman pagan, and christianity, and wasnt started for some 300 years after Yeshua's death and by the Constintine, who didnt even convert to Catholicism until he was on his death bed. And organized means nothing, Yeshua said the road to heaven is narrow and few will make the way and the way to hell is wide... so since catholicism claims 1.1 billion ppl, i wonder where theyre going...

Perhaps we should all just stop and remember Jesus said 'they shall know you by your love for one another.' To all the christians who post- don't let any one pull you into such arguing it is a terrible way for the world to see christians behave. Catholics included on that- busy yourselves with preaching the gospel of God's love to the world.

Jul 26, 2008 - Jesus isn't a real person by the way, in Hebrew there is no Englsih J sound (yes in modern, for borrowing though) Jesus comes from the romanized of the greek version of the actual hebrew. Which is Yeshua, and in latin the J is a variation of I and makes the IA sound, or the englsih 'y'. And yes the name does matter

Jul 26, 2008 - to dtp882. the letter "j" was the right letter, because the ancient latins pronounced the "j" like "y" in english "yet". eventually, many languages using the latin language underwent pronunciation changes which were not always accompanied by spelling changes. also, the 1st "s" in jesus may have been pronounced like "sh" in english "ship". the latins didn't always have that sound, so they made due with "s". the final "s" in "jesus" was added so the word would look masculine in greek and latin.
