Oct 7, 2008 - i cut my hair every month to two months my hair is long healthy and so managable and i get it cut at classic cuts its great there and i dont think its where you get it cut its who cuts your hair.

Oct 7, 2008 - I love your nice voice, your sensitive skintype and hair, ;D. what do you think of my (im gonna have you tonight line) :P?

Oct 7, 2008 - I totaly agree with the whole walk in thing to a certain degree, I'm very picky with my hair and if the place I go to doesn't look nice, and its just an in and out shop then I usualy won't go there. But even at some nicer salons new stylests have walk ins just to get a client base.
DinaBetsa Says:
Oct 7, 2008 - i know this is a dumb question (but i was just making sure) so are you a stylist?
auntjessie Says:
Oct 7, 2008 - you can only lift 4 layers with dye. so, if you're a natural level one [blackblackblack hair], you can only go to a 7 or 6, maybe.you might have to bleach it, THEN dye it. completely normal though, especially with asian hair.

Oct 7, 2008 - but a really good stylist is kinda expensive.

Oct 7, 2008 - I have a good, private stylist who only charges a little under $25, including tip, for a wash and cut.

Oct 7, 2008 - My stylist retired 3 years ago, and I haven't been able to find a new one as good as her. *sigh*And I totally agree with the walk in places. I once went into one because I was just looking for a 3 inch trim, nothing fancy, and they managed to screw that up. it was uneven and just blah. Never again.
growseeds Says:
Oct 7, 2008 - not necessarily. my stylist charges $30 and she does a great job that includes a wash, cut, and style.

Oct 7, 2008 - I definatly agree with the supercuts ... usually i go to my hair stylist but he was away for a month :( so i had to go to supercuts cause i didnt have time to find a new place.. i asked for layers she gave me one two layers that was like.. at my chin it looked terrible. :obut yea. having a good stylist is definatly important even if it is a little bit pricy.

Oct 7, 2008 - Omg one time I went to get the redken redlights done on my thick black asian hair and once they washed out the color I only had red fuzz around my roots it didnt take anywhere else! So then they had to bleach it and it was so damaged and yeah a real mess I was traumatized. But now I have a lady I like and she does a great job.

Oct 7, 2008 - i somewhat agree about the walk-in's situation. i have had the most awful haircuts from walk-in's but i don't blame the salon or even the stylist i think the problem lies with the consumer. when you're walking in you don't have a clear idea of what you want and are probably unprepared to explain it to the stylist. (i.e. no pictures or your doing something spur of the moment). unclear communication leads to an unhappy consumer. at least that is my opinion.

Oct 7, 2008 - haha i was the same way! getting a haircut for like $10 cuz we always had a coupon! haha

Oct 7, 2008 - i am a cosmetologist. i have been doing hair for a little over 3 years. for the the most part, i agree with you 100% but there were somethings that you mentioned that i did not agree with. granted i worked for several shops owned by regis and one main reason i quit was because i like to take my time and make sure my client leaves more than satisfied. also just because walk ins are welcome does not mean they dont know what they are doing. everyone has to start somewhere b 4 they can do booth rent

Oct 7, 2008 - i had a really bad experience with cutting my hair. i told the so called stylist that i wanted it a certain way and she was like ok i understand. so then after it was done... i took a look in the mirror, everthing seemed ok. when i got home my sister told me that the so called stylist forgot to cut a chunk of it. i was so pissed... i went back to the salon that same day and yelled at the lady. i got my money back though. i never went back ever. i hope she got fired. hee hee

Oct 7, 2008 - hehe my stylist does it for free and it includes a wash and cut and shes cool cause she really listens to you and i love me hair!
doytchinova Says:
Oct 7, 2008 - as a stylist, i know alot really good stylist who dont have the most trendy and up to date hair. Hair is really individual. You really cannot judge a stylist by the stylist hair. I do aggree that the second you walk into the salon the way you get treated and greated is very important. And how well the stylist listens to you. Those are things i would watch for.

Oct 7, 2008 - Lol I do the SAME exact thing! I go to supercuts and fantastic sam's...and yeah they suck. I can never find a good haircut for me...once I wanted layers and you know what they looked like? HORRIBLE! It made me look like someone burned the bottom of my hair =( I was SOO DEPRESSED! Then I asked for just a trim, in fear that layers would leave me sad again. But even a simple trim was bad because it was like...idk...it looked so BORING!I've always wanted scene hair...so bad =(

Oct 7, 2008 - Only prob. is I don't think my parents will let me get a real stylist...and I'm looking to get a haircut before school starts cuz I'll be going to high school this year and I'm going to see all my old friends and stuff and I just want to look good...Anyone have tips or suggestions?
Orchid899 Says:
Oct 7, 2008 - There is an important matter of price. Also breeknee brought up a good point, stylists pretty much all get trained at the same place. Unless they go to a fancy schmancy place and get trained by some guy named Vidal, then you will really pay for that cut. Finding a great stylist who's in your budget is a like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Oct 7, 2008 - You're totally correct! You get what you pay for. I pay $50. for my hair cut and it's well worth it. I tried going for someone cheaper, and I got what I paid for, a cheap hair cut!!! Let me tell you, I'm never going to change my hair stylist again even if I have to pay $50 dollars!!!

Oct 7, 2008 - i completely aqree! i wanted a short bobwhen my hair went down to the middle of myback. and when the hair-stylist was doneshe completely chopped off my hair to somethinqreally really short like a grandma type hair.omq! i was pissed off! so yea, hair-stylist should listen to the client before doinq somethinq they don't completely understand.
