Oct 7, 2008 - What about Leonard Cohen's "Suzanne" or Radiohead's "How to Disappear Completely"? I wouldn't say either of those are better than River Man but I think they are in the same company.

Oct 7, 2008 - well ill tell u right now its not easy finding out how to play his songs not only because its so obscure (sadly) but its always in diffrent tunings which makes it tough to figure it out by your self

reckoner912 Says:

Oct 7, 2008 - 'Treaclebutty'- if you want to play it -the guitar for this song is tuned to one of Nicks'odd' tunings.Starting from the bass string(the 6th) down to the high E string(the 1st), the Tuning is ...C - G - C - F - C - F.If you want to play - 'From the morning', the Tuning is ...B - E - B - E - B - E.My favourite of Nicks Songs is 'Three Hours'.The Tuning is...B - B - D - G - B - E. The 6th and 5th strings which are tuned to low E and A in normal standard tuning are 'Retuned' to B'.

Oct 7, 2008 - Shit, my mate told me about him and i looked him up and this is beautiful. I love Pink Floyd, and CSN. This is like a mix of both. I wish I knew him sooner. Sad that the lad killed himself. What a loss, I just want to keep playing it over and over again.

GrayPoppet Says:

Oct 7, 2008 - I dont think he killed himself

miracleman27 Says:

Oct 7, 2008 - It was a mistake, i'm sure it wasn't his intention to kill himself

begily Says:

Oct 7, 2008 - Nicks family disputes that but he was in bad shape from what I read. OD on antideppressants could go either way.

Oct 7, 2008 - Man, when I listen to this, I can hear and see a little brooke in autumn, with golden- orange oaks, maples, and willows hanging into the soft flowing waters, blowing gently in a soft breeze on a foggy morning. Nick Drake is the best to listen to in a forest or in a meadow, he's the most rightoues nature music.

heavyhand05 Says:

Oct 7, 2008 - so when i go running in the mornings, this song comes up on my playlist once in a while. funny thing is its the fall season right now, and the road is covered with leaves. it ends up looking like a river flowing when the wind blows and the leaves move like a currnet. And the "oh how they come and go" part messes with me when a car goes by and again the leaves react. just a experience worth sharing i thought.

heavyhand05 Says:

Oct 7, 2008 - p.s. kinda makes me feel like a river man;)
