SativaDust Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - What Bruce was trying to explain, was that martial arts is deeper than just fighting etc, its a way of life, its not a religion, but it offers many benefits to express yourself, its great, and was meant to be, god bless bruce lee

SativaDust Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - because everytime brucelee was trying to get to the point, the reporter either changed the subject, or he was that lost, he didnt get what bruce was trying to say, its like Jesus trying to explain to everyone that he was the son of god, you only have to see what bruce could do to know that what he was saying was somthing of the truth.

SativaDust Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - cause he doesnt understand, if a martial artist was interviewing bruce, it would be clear, but this guy obviously thinks bruce nothing more than a actor and fighter...closed minds is the worlds worst problem.

atmanpower73 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - I agree. The bigger picture I see with this particular interview is this- at the time, most people of the world were 'unintentionally ignorant' towards martial arts. This interviewer was no different for that time period.

ringunikakero Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - you're a genious!!!!

SativaDust Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - exactly! in a way its like having faith, knowing that what he was saying is true, martial arts may seem like a compition sport to anyone at first, but traditionally its about discovering who you are, and expressing it through your body and mind, which goes way back, and thats why Bruce wanted western style rather than modern in his movies, to show poeple its more than a china man beating ppl up.

07torolla Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - thats right wise one, to have a style you must not have a style. R.I.P Brotha

JakLoso Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - more like Armageddon

JakLoso Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - i get that kinda vibe too that he doesnt even try to understand what bruce is saying. berton seems to just move on to the next question rather quickly without a comment several times...O_o

JakLoso Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - O_o . . .they ended that interview kinda abruptly after bruce's answer to the last question...

Jul 7, 2008 - "unnatural naturalness" what a great expression.

arclegion Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Berton's questions were generally well-applied, given the kind of audience he had to deal with. Sad to say, too much philosophy really turns some viewers away. To that end, I feel bad for Bruce - he had a lot of great messages that were difficult to communicate in sound-bytes. An excellent interview, though, and one I'm glad to locate.

arclegion Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - I agree about the hash. I'd rather have known of that Bruce - the man who was stressed out, frustrated, perpetually active and driven. The man who possessed real flaws. He's the ultimate example of the human condition, in both achievement and limitation. Knowing that he was human in all aspects is what makes him inspiring. If I want an unrealistically flawless person, I can make one up. You can't make up something like Bruce Lee - it develops in a natural, imperfect, fantastic way.
