Jul 26, 2008 - Your feeble attempt to use expletive as a weapon, as opposed to intellectual debate, illustrates, graphically, how bankrupt your philosophies really are.I know that indoctrinated automata -- such as yourself -- find it difficult to accept the reality of the fact that many of us from the Irish Republic choose to serve the Crown; that just doesn't fit the republican myth now does it?I look forward to your next burst of impotent invective.xx

alex24a3 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Keep looking forward to it :)

Jul 26, 2008 - this song is by far my favorite from any movie ever. when i listen to it on the soundtrack, it actually makes me cry. dario marianelli is a genius if you ask me.

Jul 26, 2008 - Thus ends your attempt at argument; it speaks volumes about you. Never let it be said; however, that I'm not magnanimous in victory.Republicans have, by far, better music and gable-end artwork that their equivalant Neanderthals on the so-called loyalist side of the fence. It's been nice educating you.xx

athadj Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Simply amazing! I don't think I've ever seen anything like it. I'me not a huge fan of this film but I would give him best director Oscar for this scene alone. Excellent cast and crew as well.

alex24a3 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Looks like "big brain" is too naive to notice when a person CHOOSES not to talk to them :) You seem mentally unstable and I'm not going to belittle myself, thank you. What attempt at argument, smart guy? Are you delusional? "Magnanimous in victory?" hehe I'm supposed to take you seriously? Get a fuc#ing life, mate. I don't mean that as an insult, seriously...get a life. You're a typical internet story, a sad person with opinions who uses the net for verbal diarrhea :(

alex24a3 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Actually, I only made my origianl statement to see the reaction. Of course, you were smart enough to see that... (yes, I'm being sarcastic) I knew some idiot would post something to make me laugh...the strange thing is you were so outrageous in disgracing yourself that I don't feel like laughing :( Now I don't even feel like using this site, I don't want to end up like you "kirstenthegoth."

Jul 26, 2008 - Athadj- I couldn't agree more. This movie was okay but this scene was worth a whole movie ticket price. I couldn't get this scene out of my head for days. The singing in the background and all the soldiers makes it one of my most favorite scenes of all time.

Jul 26, 2008 - they say a picture is worth a thousand words...then this 'shot' conveys a thousand myriad of words, emotions, realities and the facts that at some point in time these moments have been lived and experienced and now captured in film for those of us who are fortunate to be distanced by time and experience. Thank you. it must be akin to the opening scenes of Saving Private Ryan. you feel as if your there!

marvinhood Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - This is one of the best scenes I've ever seen in a movie. It is so effective, so moving, so shocking, and along with the music, it's just PERFECT!!! Joe Wright was robbed from an Oscar Nom!!!!!

Jul 26, 2008 - wow cool!

thereelghostbuster Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Impressive. No, magnificent. But given that it's lit considerably by nature and overcast (thus the emulsion is able to be exposed without much fill) this instantly classic shot (and I guarantee you it will be in most film history books within five years) is most immediately a testament to direction, staging, and crew coordination.
