In the introduction to the new DVD, which can be seen at http://www.fsspdvd.com, Card. Castrillon Hoyos says in particular:"It [the Latin Mass] is not a gift for the so called Traditionalists, no, it is a gift for the whole Catholic Church. [...] and then by the will of the vicar of Christ, [priests] must accept the petitions and the requests of the faithful who want this mass and must offer it to them. And even if it is not specifically asked for or requested they should make it available so that everyone access to this treasure of the ancient liturgy of the Church.[...] The Holy Father want this form of the mass to become a normal one in the parishes so that in this way young communities can also become familiar with this rite."God bless the Cardinal and the Pope!

tlarosa Says:

Oct 7, 2008 - Thank you the Society of St. Pius X for preserving the Faith and Mass while the rest of the Church adopted the novelties of a new religion called the Novus Ordo.

pdevadder Says:

Oct 7, 2008 - Why dub? Please, let those who understand Italian listen to the voice of His Eminence. That is what subtitles are for. Please, no more dubbing!

dangerousdan71 Says:

Oct 7, 2008 - As much as I love the extraordinary form of the Mass, it's idiot comments like this that don't help anyone.

tlarosa Says:

Oct 7, 2008 - The extraordinary form of the Mass is a misnomer. It is the only true form of the Roman Rite. Always has and always will be. The Novus Ordo is an abomination.

dangerousdan71 Says:

Oct 7, 2008 - And by whose authority do you speak on? I thought Christ passed on His authority to the Apostles not to you. Therefore if the Church decides to change the Mass (without changing the essential elements) then it is her prerogative to do so. Having said that I certainly agree that it probably is not always the prudent thing to do, to play about with liturgy, hence the mess we have today.

Oct 7, 2008 - Praise be to Jesus! God is great for he hears the voice of the poor and oppressed! Thank you for our answered prayers!! By the normalization of the Gregorian Mass, may the triumphant hearts of Jesus and Mary be everywhere blessed and glorified forever!!

jnetusil Says:

Oct 7, 2008 - You're ignorant. Even Benedict XVI says the X Form is not the norm - thus Extraordinary. The Novus Ordo is THE liturgy of the universal church, no matter what close minded people like you think.

dbouffard25 Says:

Oct 7, 2008 - Well said.

dbouffard25 Says:

Oct 7, 2008 - You should know better than this.

Eskadron22 Says:

Oct 7, 2008 - Let's hope "Novus Ordo" and the whole rotten and failed idea called "modern church" will be done with soon.

ixtoc999 Says:

Oct 7, 2008 - AMEN, brother!!

1rams123 Says:

Oct 7, 2008 - You are right, the Church has the right to change what she so desires in the liturgy. However, the Church's teaching is that this change must be organic and not sudden, but come as a result of devotion and pious development, from saints and theologians, not determined by 'liturgical experts'. Even the Pope says this. The Church is the protector and curator of the liturgy, not its creator; God through the apostles is its Creator, the Church is simply called to preserve the tradition passed down.

dangerousdan71 Says:

Oct 7, 2008 - I am in agreement with you!

ikseret Says:

Oct 7, 2008 - jnetusil:Sorry to say, but you are being closed minded. The "universal Church" has no one liturgy. The Novus Ordo is at present the "ordinary form" of only the "Roman" Church. Don't forget or despise the 21 other rites of the Catholic Church.
