Here is another gem from my VHS archives. Our gospel Queen Mahalia Jackson as she appeared in 1957 singing on the Nat King Cole show. Listen to that voice so pure and powerful.

Oct 7, 2008 - Oh, by the way, the LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob ALSO once ACCEPTED a human sacrifice, AFTER giving a man a blessing he asked for and wound up sacrificing his only child for. And I'm NOT talking about the Abraham-and-Isaac incident.Judges 11 — the WHOLE CHAPTER.

Oct 7, 2008 - Coma....Oh don't be ridiculous!! This entire conversation stemmed from exposing your previously written "MISTAKES" [SIC] regarding the "innocent" Jerichoans (implying) & the little "lying harlot traitor" (vividly described) and now you are writing this tirade ignoring some of the previously discussed issues while including others not discussed. Sharia? Muslim extremists? The stars, the moon huh??.

Oct 7, 2008 - Coma....Getting back on track, what "really" is being discussed here is God's Sovereignty. This includes Sovereignty over the entire universe and everything in it.So yes, yes, yes, HE has every right to judge creation as HE sees fit...Sovereignty...Regarding humankind: God gave instructions to humans from the very Beginning on how to live our lives (and also it's consequences for sinful behavior), and humans have disobeyed from the very Beginning up to this year 2008...

Oct 7, 2008 - Coma....Sovereignty...Can the little ball of clay challenge the Clay Maker??...Wake up and come out of your coma (no pun intended)...Finally, each and every YouTube member has a right to give positive or negative votes on this site (our little sovereignty ha, ha) so don't get angry when they do so...In fact I'm about to neg you (just kidding)...

Oct 7, 2008 - I don't care about the biblical debates. Mahalia Jackson is the greatest singer ever and a national treasure. Just listen to this and that is self-evident.
BGNW Says:
Oct 7, 2008 - Then why comment on the biblical debate if not interested? Once I read it all, it was sort of interesting. Someone came upon this site with deceiving words & a twisted sort of logic, but fortunately was "corrected" by another. Praise God for true bible reading students.

Oct 7, 2008 - There is NO ONE who can sing the word "hallelujah" the way Mahalia does...You can just feel the presence of God when she just simply sings that word anad THATS what it's all about

Oct 7, 2008 - one thing i notice about the older singers, they could hit and note, hold it, stretch it out..one reason I think todays singers are less skilled. Today they feel like they have to go up and down a scale...what a pleasure to hear her hit that last note.

Oct 7, 2008 - Wow! That was awesome. It would seem that the late Moses Hogan's arrangment of this song is heavily influenced by this version. Good stuff.
