Oct 10, 2008 - it's an eastman El Rey with gibson classic 57 pickups and a custom pickguard I had made for it. I've since switched to a sadowsky semi-hollow guitar which i like better.

Oct 10, 2008 - Metheny indeed does have some good licks. But Metheny's style is not as articulate as Benson's. Metheny seems more "legatto" and Benson more "staccato". At times Metheny sounds like he's mumbling on the guitar. But I get more sentimental over Metheny's style than Benson's. Benson just doesn't move me as much! Maybe Benson is too chops oriented? Not totally chops oriented mind you. But rather a little more on the chops side than the emotive side. You know?
