The technology website CNET.com mentioned Algae Biodiesel in a short segment. Considering that Algae grows quickly, is carbon neutral and the fuel (biodiesel) being produced will run in the most efficient internal combusion engines we currently use, this could well be the best alternative to petroleum.

Sep 7, 2008 - Maybe one day these a=holes will stand up and talk about chemtrails-no global warming, just global chemtrails...wake up people.
bulitboy Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - I agree, someone stand up and talk about chemtrails-no global warming, just global chemtrails...that's my new saying, cause that's the truth.
DontSprayMeBro Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - agreed bulitboy and humanswin...and thanks bulit for sending me this vid.

Sep 7, 2008 - thanks= i thought i was gonna get crap(not that i give damn)pleasure to see you are aware of the bad reality

Sep 7, 2008 - Co2 is a life gas. and compared to Oxygen, approximately 20% of the Earths atmosphere and Nitrogen 79/80% of the earths atmosphere Co2 is less then .4% of Our atmosphere. You have Neon, argon and a host of other gasses that fall into this less than 1% of the atmosphere. Green stuff needs Co2 to flurish and to give off OXYGEN! This Algie thing sounds ok but gees it requires Co2?The Sun is the controling factor in the heating of the atmosphere except for some help from HAARP. carbon tax ha

Sep 7, 2008 - can you confirm that statement of "CURRENTLY PRODUCING 33,000 gallons per acre"?coz i can't find info that they are currently producing anything.
roidroid Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - Rather than letting it gas-off internally in your body (ie: fart), it'd probably be a better idea to just collect and burn the human feces directly.Toilet-car.disclaimer - i have not done any calculations on how long you could run your car on a day's worth of shit. A wild guess, i'd say it'd go about 5-20 miles.
roidroid Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - algae likes piss more than shit.seriously, algae loves urea, that's why it grows so much in fish tanks.
roidroid Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - they said 10,000 gallons per year, and yep that's about the limit of open pond reactors.(yes they are fertilizing it)
roidroid Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - the algae is converted into ethanol and/or biodiesel before it enters your tank silly.
roidroid Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - what's with the sudden influx of conspiracy theorists?Chemtrails and now HAARP? lol
jwallbanger Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - how would you burn your shit exactly? i s'pose you could make a mini biogas converter and install it under you car, wouldn't that be cool if instead of gas stations people just pulled over and took a dump into their gas tank!let's draw up some blueprints and make this happen roid. fuck hydrogen, the future is poo!btw, i think i read somewhere about a prison in south africa that gets 60% of their energy needs from biogas derived from their own feces, so we may be late to the party on this one.

Sep 7, 2008 - valcent (dot) net ... click on "News & Events". Behold the power of science ;)
roidroid Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - thanks!it seems they produced 276 tons of algae biomass/acre/year. Which would work out to 33,000 gal/acre/year if they used a high lipid content algae that grew at the same rate.Unfortunately, AFAIK high lipid content algaes do NOT grow at the same rate. They are less robust species and grow slower coz it takes extra energy to create lipids.I'm no expert though, i'll be happy when Valcent proves actual oil yields. It seems to looking good though, they're definitely confident.
roidroid Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - i'm willing to bet such blueprints have already been drawn up by someone, somewhere :)i recon the best idea would be to burn the poo constantly in an unthrottleable process to create electricity (perhaps using a stirling engine), which is stored internally in batteries and drives the wheels via electric motor/s. Basically an electric Hybrid, an added advantage in the stirling engine design is that it could burn any fuel: even wood, gasoline, or small animals.
jwallbanger Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - you know what we really need is a car that burns idiots, now that's an inexhaustable fuel source!
netspectre101 Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - Actually what we REALLY need is a car that burns useless eaters.

Sep 7, 2008 - see a manual to do this at home ... shame utube doesn't let us post links, but if you lookup this addy you'll find some interseting reading... global-greenhouse-warming and then the dot making-algae-biodiesel
sewings Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - The manual is 550 pages ! must be something in it

daddeo01905 Says:
Sep 7, 2008 - It seems simple; 1) grow algae 2) harvest algae3) dry algae4) put dry algae in to oil seedpress5) turn oil from seedpress into biodieselwhat is the problem?
