Me playing Asturias Leyenda by Isaac Albeniz at a classical music competition at our university. Please do not argue that the piano version is better or that the guitar version is better. Each has its own beauty to offer, and any argument related to this is both ignorant and not constructive.

Oct 11, 2008 - Thanks very much for your comment. It was at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia =)

Oct 11, 2008 - You're right when you say that telling "It's better for guitar" or "It's better for piano" is a vague comentary. In music, the most important is the composition, the piece, and each one has its own beauty, I think the sound of an instrument doesn't make any difference, there are more important features: interpretation, for example. And we must remember that this piece was originally composed for piano, and Albéniz Liked the guitar version too.

guaniamo Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - And, if we talk about Spanish folk sound, we can't say it sounds more spanish if it is played in guitar, because I felt the spanish sound in this original piano version, and in this context you can see Albeniz's genius, he got the spanish feeling in this piece, and you feel it in piano or guitar

Oct 11, 2008 - try sitting up, for such a good player your posture is really bad

hodori1984 Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - yeah my posture's usually not too bad, it's just this piece that makes me want to hunch over like quasimodo for some reason. thanks for the comment though =)

thejugglenaut91 Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - haha i definetly know what you mean

animalityyy Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - Yeah I agree that saying in which this song is better is something dumb to say, even though they are the same song they sound different on each instrument, I like them both.Nice vid.

davmaka Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - You people are so silly. The marimba version is obviously the best =)Haha, jk though, they're all amazing. It's the composition that's so beautiful, not which instrument it is played on.....but I do like the marimba. :P haha

Oct 11, 2008 - Hey- no doubt-Asturias was written for guitar!

BurgundyVelvet Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - lol no, asturias was originally written for piano, not guitar... it was tarrega who made the arrangement for guitar, even though the sound is far better there than the piano version ... But originally, it was writen for the piano :) ( Albeniz, the composer, was a pianist :P)

IncrediSax Says:
