Aug 21, 2008 - Man I really dig Duane's guitar solo at the mid-point of the song (right after Dickey's). Did not ,till now, know that Dickey had a son playing right next to him and kicking ass!!!

Aug 21, 2008 - This song is so good, I think it almost has a "life of it's own", but when you add some "kick ass southern rock players to it", it just starts to levitate!!!! Holy sheep shit, Martha, I think I'm havin' a good time here. Marc.

marctrainor777 Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - GAWD, how in the fuck can Gregg 'fire' Dickie? He is a Brother, after all. Besides, IMO, he kept ABB afloat, while Gregg was NODDING-OFF on Smack, and not taking care of business. God Bless Dickie Betts!!!

cosmobunker Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - Right on DOC. If you as me I think Warren Haynes stabbed him in the back.

KnqsX Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - well he's certainly one of the humblest and nicest guys currently in the business. but really, what should he be doing? painting houses?

tboulder2002 Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - Exactly. If you're born in the industry, its all you know. It's not fair to measure him with Waylon. Shooter is his own artist.I'm sure he thinks Hank Jr rode coattails too.

NoTax720000 Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - dickey is one of a kind and was in a one of a kind band... incredible musicianship with big heart.. southern rock and blues

Drumshanbohustle Says:

Aug 21, 2008 - I try to look at it this way: Now there are two "Allman Brothers Bands", one led by Gregg Allman and Warren Haynes, and one led by Dickey Betts. But still, it's not quite the same. No doubt, Gregg Allman wrote almost all of the band's early originals, but Dickey Betts practically wrote the whole of "Seven Turns" and "Back Where It All Begins", and most of their post-Duane material back in the 70s as well. Like Haynes or not, but him and Betts together, that was one great Allman Brothers Band.
