President Bush introducing Wesley Autrey as a "true hero." Autrey accepted the compliment like he was at the MTV Music Video Awards, with shout-outs and everything! What is really funny was Bush trying to hold back his laughter at the end

Oct 11, 2008 - Arrogant AndrewDeJoseph is just plain jealous of Wesley Autrey. Autrey is an awesome hero, and he has the right to collect on his 15 minutes of Heroic fame. He is a real person. If you watched him on the interviews, you'd appreciate is sincereness.

rarecoolitems Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - I LIKE THIS.

asterismxx Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - This was really touching. I think Barack OBama noted how it was strange to show these people at the end though, it's usually done at the beginning, so that's a sign that Bush really needed an extra boost for his speech.I was most amused by how that basketball player dude is like 8 feet tall.

billydilly1 Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - Good on the man , Ill be buzzing out too doing my thang, getting all the recognition and attention I can u never no could make another $mil or 2 ,especially in front of all those goons.

fce Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - I respect what Wesley did, but he looked like a fool the way he was throwing up his hands when he got recognized. That wasn't humble. The basketball player was. I liked the way Bush tried not to laugh.

AndrewDeJoseph Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - Typical name calling bluecavalry. I never said Wes Autrey didn't have the right to revel in his new found fame, but he certainly isn't humble about it. I have seen many television and radio interviews with Autrey all of which he charged a fee forand he does not appear humble at all. In an interview with 92.3 fm in New York, Autrey stated that he was to recieve a new car but said that because he was such a quote"SUPERSTAR" he would not even be able to drive it down the street.Very humble indeed

dsum00 Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - First of all, he did something that almost nobody else in the world would have done. He saved a guys life by holding him down in a trough at the bottom of the subway tracks and te passing subway missed his head by inches. He deserves everything that he has recieved so far and more. All the talk shows that he did pay their guests anyway, and didn't pay Autrey anymore than they would any other guest.

dsum00 Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - To prove the point that he is humble, THE DAY AFTER he SAVED THE GUY'S LIFE, he refused to accpet being called a hero.

AndrewDeJoseph Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - dsum I understand he did a great thing and i mean to take nothing away from that. But he stopped being humble when he started going on television. Although he might have refused to be called a hero the next day, in the same radio interview I mentioned he said that he was indeed a hero and that he believed that God himself had sent him to earth to do such heroic things. Now im not saying that he isn't a hero, im just saying that he is not being very humble about it.

dsum00 Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - whether or not he is currently a humble person, he deserves all the attention that he has recieved. I think he might have become less humble because of all the media attention that he has gotten since the incident. He was just a normal construction worker one day, and the next day he is all over national TV.

UltimateCharm Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - I think he's just trying to enjoy himself. He did say he's going to enjoy his little 15 minutes of fame

ArabicSpeakinSoldier Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - Please don't judge the man or backbite him. He claimed not to be a hero, but he loved the publicity he recieved and may have subdued and became prideful. I'm not saying it's right, but we all know that we would most likely do the same thing should it happen to us.

jonbankrupt Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - Of course he charged a fee. He's a construction worker. If you had the chance to appear on a radio show, and be paid for it, would you if you were in the working class?

andsimon Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - yea the next president to the united states is two to the right (his left) of the subway hero. the blond hair guy

purplepiratebones Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - So WHAT! Get a life...if all you can do is criticize people who deserve praise, then you have too much time on your hands. Worry about your own life.

JanineRobin Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - I have nothing against President Bush but I feel he used this more to promote himself and his policies overseas instead of just applauding the actions of Wesley Autrey

JanineRobin Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - I'd like to see the transcript of this radio interview you claim, I flat out don't believe you AndrewDeJoseph.

jasonhartman1987 Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - I agree with you Janine

kyashaenator Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - no one could what wesley autrey did unless u had faith in god

thejude82 Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - this man has reached the pinnacle of human evolution.

m7md7atem Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - So you're saying atheists have no morals?

purefaces Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - no they don't. they are too arrogant to have morals

m7md7atem Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - guess who sounds arrogant? it's you dumbass

skullcandy4u Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - so where is the guy who fell onto the tracks? whats his name? is he o.k? what are they doing to make it safer?

soulofshiver Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - Fell? The guy had a seizure, why do people keep censoring that?
