Aug 20, 2008 - Holy freaking birds on a bedstand...I've been tracking this one down for years. Saw it on TV when I was about 9, around Halloween, when my mom called me into watch about half-way through thinking it looked good. Sweet Jesus, I spent the next week sleeping under the covers in case the "bird man" came to get me. Total terrified wreck. I never knew what it was and was frankly a little scared to find out. Damn you, Sandman. Damn you and your little bastard chicks.

Aug 20, 2008 - Oh god lord. This scared the shite out of me when I was younger. To be honest, it still does.
MoobCakes Says:
Aug 20, 2008 - This isn't scary at all. We watched it at school and it's fine, some people just need to grow up!
MariusCreb Says:
Aug 20, 2008 - Goodness. This is a beautifully animated film. I wouldn't call it scary, but it is rather suspenseful, and I can certainly see why some people are frightened by it.

Aug 20, 2008 - dis is horrible we watched it in english
QueenBoadicea Says:
Aug 20, 2008 - I saw it as part of an animation festival. I was struck by its originality and daring. The original Germanic tale about the man in the moon stealing kid's eyes to feed his chicks with owls' beaks, brought to life by E.T.A. Hoffman, isn't one that's much known to modern audiences. It had been watered down for Victorians into a tale of a little fairy sprinkling dust into children's eyes to make them sleep. I had forgotten the utter disturbing chill of it. Thanks to YouTube for bringing it back.

Aug 20, 2008 - I saw this about ten years ago with my ex, we were both stoned and it was shown about 1am on channel 4 or something. I felt sorry for the poor kiddy, think i sat there and thought about it for ages after LOL
