IamNorthwind Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Nice troll there glimmer

douglasferguson21 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - thats the second half of the form. but that is gun ji fuk fu kuen

IamNorthwind Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - We already agreed that it was...

razorCF Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Just to give you an understanding, there are different types of horse stances. The taller stances allow you to drop your weight when striking downward. Trust me, Tang Fung's and Lam Sai Wing's version have low and high horses. Tang Fung's style has higher stances usually because Tang Fung was tall for a chinese man.Do you not understand that the Hung Gar system uses a combination of high and low stances to generate power and shift weight?

razorCF Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - The words of a novice. There is no truth in art.

razorCF Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - For those of you who are first viewing this, the first section of the Video is actually Lau Gar. Lau Gar is the first form taught Hung Gar students of the Tang Fung Lineage. It is also taught in other lineages such as Lam Sai Wing. It is said that Lau Gar is taught for combat speed (which is shown in this video) and to respect the art of Lau Gar which is very rare nowadays.

razorCF Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - The second form shown, the slower one, is Gung Ji Fuk Fu (Taming the Tiger in I formation). This form is typically broken up into two sections because of the length and difficulty. The video lets you know when the form is broken, so if you are attempting to learn it, I would recommend using it as a stopping point.

razorCF Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - This form is one of the first forms taught to Hung Gar students. I can tell you from experience, it takes a long time to master this form. Master Frank Yee (Yee Gee Ling) is a well respected grandmaster of the Tang Fung lineage of Hung Gar.

conradbf Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - The first section of the video is actually the second part of Gung Gee Fuk Fu Kuen (Fuk Fu) performed at the correct speed. The second section is the whole of Gung Gee Fuk Fu performed slowly, this is the first form taught to students of the Tang Fong lineage.

Jul 26, 2008 - Absolutely amazing.

treyphan77 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Very nice

ReDbOAtHuNgGaR Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - i did a vid on my phone lol of gung gee fuk fu the way it was thought by fei hung but im just learning still it looks diffrent from other hung gar.

front131 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Thank you, it's interesting to watch. The first section is definitely not the Lau Gar form, not as I learnt it anyway. I don't understand your comment about using high and low stances to generate power? Twisting yes, but by moving up? The problem is when another guy teaches this 'variation' (I say that with respect) and calls it authentic Hung Kuen and I've seen a few 'sifu' who were, technically speaking, rubbish but happily taking money for it.

2Shadow6 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - the first was fuk fu kun the second half of gung gee fuk fu kun then he did the whole form. its a hard form to learn. my favorite form is jit kun

TabeebAbiDawudMD Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Wow, this is my father's old Hung Ga teacher from when I was a kid! Thanks for the upload.

emopotatoman Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - that is so weird a sissy like no offenc

slizzler1 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - emopotatoman- your name is sissy like-but that's not the point. This Master is going slow motion with a powerful form- each move he's done has powerful applications when done practical normal speed mode. Another thing you don't know is the intensive conditioning Hung Gar practisioners undergo constantly.

killerteddie Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - the only form i know is lim bo keun

MockEmpire Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Ignorant fool! Gung fu is maths for the body.Like your mind creates and solves formulas, your body can do the same.. Muscle memory.. more like muscle intelligence

Zamzalett Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - You know dude, that was actually beautiful what you said.

wolfdaddy2002 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - No it's not Lau Gar, it's definatly Gung Ji. Front131, it would take a lot more than 500 words to explain how exactly some stances generate power. Essentially, moving from a low stance to a high one at an upward angle lets someone focus a lot of power into a small space (ie their fist).

wolfdaddy2002 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Nice. Hadn't thought of the math angle. I tend to thing of it like this: individual techniques are like letters, forms are like poems. Once you have a good selection you can create your own. (ie fight).

front131 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Thanks you don't need to, I do know abit about Hung Kuen. But my remark was related to the moving 'up' remark (as opposed to 'twisting up' as I'd said, if you're telling energy can be generated without the hips merely by moving up, I'd disagree put it like that, but I'm sure there's been a misunderstanding due to presumed knowledge not always being expressed. With the greatest respect, I wasn't greatlyimpressed by the performance by this Sifu herebut that's just my opinion.

wolfdaddy2002 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - ah, ok. Yes there's hip movements involved, and it is more of a twisting movement, now that i think about it.
