Oct 11, 2008 - you're right. That detail was ignored, I suppose, for the purpose of drama. The visual takes precedence over facts.
mxv1845 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - yeah if they have ears like ours but what if their senses are not like ours?

Oct 11, 2008 - I think she does. I mean this woman graduated with honors at some ivy league school. And this could be one of the reasons that influenced her to take this role on.

Oct 11, 2008 - If its impossible for us humans to ever create a wormhole then im pretty sure we wont last long on a cosmalogical scale. Light Speed will only get us so far. The only thing that stopping us from exploring this beautiful universe is the vast distances. The sun will die out in about 6 billion years so we better be somewhere else.

Oct 11, 2008 - vast distances will eventually be manipulated by intense gravity . . creating folds in space . . . . so i read int burnley express

Oct 11, 2008 - It reminds me of my childhood days when I was into astronomy. When everything was so new and exhilirating. How I miss those days when my life was full of wonder and optimism. sigh.. :(

Oct 11, 2008 - This is an absoulutely beautiful scene. However audio is not accurate. Radio waves travel at the speed of light, so the Martin Luther King speech and all the other music and broadcasts would be light years away and far past our solar system. The rest of the movie was great.
derkaderka58 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - still, i think it's very creative how as they got futher away from the earth, the audio from famous clips got older. it may not be completely accuate, but it's still cool
mackanmodh Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - i think they knew that. i beleive that they just wanted to show how much of our stuff is out there in space, traveling around and telling other civilations where we are.. =)
pugs909 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - and how shallow we are
pugs909 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - wow...6 billion years to make a move? take things one step at a time, cowboy.
mackanmodh Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - haha, why do say that? =P

Oct 11, 2008 - I love how in virtually every movie, the asteroid belt is portrayed as being really densely clustered with asteroids :) In reality the asteroids are very thinly distributed... so i've learned

Oct 11, 2008 - The video was spectacular for its time, but even today it wouldn't kill the producers to remaster the sound and put the broadcast intervals at more realistic distances. It takes 20 minutes to broadcast to Mars, not 20 years. Just edit in some delays, and it's perfect.
dogma750 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - It just reminds me how very small our world is.

Oct 11, 2008 - don't worry hunny, we're the future humans, we don't have much time left and i guess our race won't get to explore the universe
