Jul 26, 2008 - Yorke based this on a song called "The Air That I Breathe," which was written by Albert Hammond and Mike Hazlewood in 1972. After "Creep" was released, Radiohead agreed to share the songwriting royalties, so this is credited to Yorke, Hammond and Hazlewood.

Jul 26, 2008 - MOODYBLUES,Yes, Raul most definitely is! He also has one of the strongest and purest male voices I have ever heard.(I love your moniker, btw.)

Jul 26, 2008 - I agree..I love watching TOTP2 except for when he makes his stupid comments..they should just play the videos..no need for a DJ..especially a twat like Wright.
PAGAN19 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Malo has the closest voice to Orbison's that I ever heard - Austin City Limits had the savvy to introduce the Mavericks by playing an Orbison song before they sang. Raul is to-die-for sexy. Only thing is, he sings "silent angels" and thereby ruins the whole song for the diehard purist who really listens to the words. The singer's silent angel is the sleeping woman he's singing to - not a bunch of silent angels, LOL.

Jul 26, 2008 - is it allan clark or graham nash from the hollies who sings this song?
vutEwa Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Raul is such a ham. I love to see him and the band at Santa Barbara County Fair. First time I went, as I was standing in line waiting to get in I was wondering what person in the management selected to pipe in the Rolling Stones, Van halen and Rush over the loudspeakers while we waited outside. When the doors opened, guess what? There's Raul on stage singing for us some of his "favorite" R&R songs. He fooled us all with his ability to sound like anyone. This song is a Maverick style though :D
ExRepublican96 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Personally I think I like this version better than the Hollies' original. Raul is just freakin' awesum! Voice control is amazing and what a range... Thanks for posting this video, roddy

mapetite46 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - This is a very good cover, but he seems to be singing 'sleep silent angels' (plural); surely he is singing to his lover: 'sleep silent angel'?
broth50 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Allen Clark sang this. Nash was gone by the time this came out. K.D. Lang does a nice version as well

Jul 26, 2008 - Too bad this is not a live version. Someone has taken a live performance and dubbed the studio version of the song over it to make this video.
ExRepublican96 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - you are wrong...this was a live performance
citybeat60 Says:
Jul 26, 2008 - Nice version, but I'll take Allan Clarke and the Hollies rendition over this any day.
