But looking through the many comments left so far I note that there are references to eating disorders (EDs), the assumption being that women develop EDs because they don't feel they're pretty enough. Seeing slim and pretty models may make girl/woman feel dissatisfied about her own body, but does she then go on to develop an ED? Do these images actually cause EDs? EDs are about controlling thoughts, feelings and emotions. They're not about vanity.

It is shocking that young girls are bombarded with images to describe what they are supposed to look like to be considered beautiful. Someone may look at a Beyonce pic and say "i love her skin and her weist. I want to look just like that." that person does not realize that that pic may have been altered, therefore no matter how much we perfect our skin, workout or diet we will never look like that because that image does not exist.
