Jul 7, 2008 - One of my favourites.Before I gave my life completely to Jesus I heard this song. Not being raised in a Christian family & rebelling against everything & everyone I remember how it spoke to me.You see I knew deep down God was real but I still wanted to pursue selfish living,drugs,drinking etc. To me this song spoke of a struggle to live for myself or die to myself & live for Christ. I thank God He didn't give up on me.I don't consider myself better than anyone else, just eternally better off.

As for the conflict you stated,that was over Peter & some of the other disciples trying to be people pleasers rather than pleasers of God. Paul rightly chastised Peter & he repented. For those who incorrectly say Paul is out of sync with the other New Testament writers need to read 2nd Peter 3:15-17.
