Jul 7, 2008 - I drive a 3 ton nissan patrol and its powerful, twits pull into my lane infront of me when i brake to a red light and they cut up my braking distance, they obviously dont understand that my car/truck can drive straight through them and push them against there own engine block and crush them, when its wet its even worse - no matter how good my tyres are, i need that distance - if i flash my beams thats what your doin wrong. I enjoy off road driving, owning 2 vehicles is impractical.

There is a misconception that 4x4s take up more roadspace-this is simply not true. The car looks bigger (it is taller) ergo people assume it takes up more roadspace. Check the measurements properly. Allow the safe distance between cars, and they all take up about the same space in practice. I agree that people who live and drive exclusively in cities should drive something else.

Jul 7, 2008 - In my home town a motorbike did similar damage to a honda civic which pulled out of a T junction as the bike came hurtling down the road. They all died fairly instantaneously, the point being if you broadside a civic with any vehicle (less than a truck)travelling fast enough its going to kill the occupants most likely of both vehicles 4x 4 or not.
