Oct 15, 2008 - I was living on a rural island in Ireland when this came out. About once a week I would hitchhike to the nearest town, find the music shop, and see if this album had come in yet. One day, it had. I took it back to the hostel that I worked at and played it over and over again. Luckily, no one complained. Not that I would have stopped it if they had. :)

Oct 15, 2008 - I love that album! What did you do alone in a island?

Oct 15, 2008 - Such beauty. If there are any editors out there that would like to couple this vid with a live version, please do. DickBones got it in one. Almost too sublime.

daveyjones69 Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - wow. absolutely stunningI played this video on my laptop in a room full of loud somewhat drunk college students and as soon as it started playing the whole room became completely quiet, you could seriously hear a pin drop, and everyone was completely entranced like a bunch of babies staring into a mirror.

JeramyTheGirl Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - I thought that it wouldn't be right if she steared away from potishead, but even alone, she's astonishing

vaughntrapp Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - Bittersweet- and the most perfect evocation of human mortality i've ever heard...."oh lost and by the wind grieved ghost come back"-T. wolfe

vaughntrapp Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - i played it at my mother's funeral. This song is what remains at the end of the day....memory, longing, resignation, gratitude....I wonder what the impulse was for Beth to write this....

Procrastinophil Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - This is such a hauntingly beautiful tune. I feel like crying every time I listen to it. It's also in the closing scenes from the film Les Poupées Russes, an average film but with a lovely soundtrack.

MORGIANNE10 Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - I don´t find Poupées RUsses an average film. It´s an amazing portrayal of the people in their early thirties, their convictions, deeds, doubts and faults... and many people of that age identify themselves with the characters. I understand you may find it average, but personally I like this film very much

bodyanti Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - I agree, I adore Russian Dolls, it's really insightful I think. Especially when paired with The Spanish Apartment. The contrast between the mid-20s to the early-30s is amazing.

Wilmerino Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - oh man..when I first heard this song like...3 or 4 years ago I used to cry every time myself...I guess unfortunately I am desensitized to it now..haha....sooo beautiful and sooo haunting..you are sooo right

Wilmerino Says:

Oct 15, 2008 - I love the cows

Oct 15, 2008 - El video es justo como me lo imaginaba!!!(Y creo desmiente la idea de que Beth Gibbons es agorafóbica).
