Across America, young people feel pressure to wear the "right" clothes -- and it, in turn, is transferred to parents who foot the bill for clothing. No one knows this better than NBA star of the New York Knicks, Stephon Marbury. He knows these pressures and has met kids who said they were beat up because of what they wear.To help today's youth just in time for the back to school season, Marbury launched a clothing line that parents can afford. The brand will be available at Steve and Barry's retailers nationally. The NBA star has literally put his money - and his shoe - where his mouth is. In fact, his Starbury brand shoe - the exact same one he will wear on the NBA hardwood - will be just $14.95.Despite his "bad boy" image, he is a family man - raising small children in the suburbs - and he wants to make a difference. Marbury turned down a big endorsement to offer kids and parents stylish, yet inexpensive, clothing; most items will be $7.98 or less! About Stephon Marbury, NBA Player, New York KnicksA native of the Coney Island section of Brooklyn, NY, Stephon Marbury is the sixth of seven children to his parents, Don and Mabel Marbury. Stephon was a basketball prodigy from a very early age and was named National High School Player of the Year by Parade Magazine during his senior year at Brooklyn's Abraham Lincoln High. Stephon attended Georgia Tech where he was named 3rd team All American his freshman year before deciding to enter the NBA draft. At age 19, Marbury was selected fourth in the 1996 NBA Draft and began his career as a professional athlete. Marbury is a two time NBA All Star and represented Team USA on the 2004 Olympic basketball team. Stephon and NBA legend Oscar Robertson, are the only players in history with career averages of 20 points and 8 assists. Every summer, he hosts approximately 700 underprivileged children at the annual Stephon Marbury Basketball Classic in his native Coney Island. Marbury also holds an all-expense paid four-day camp in the Pennsylvania Poconos for underprivileged and deserving students from New York.

Aug 20, 2008 - I'm in love with him. The minute I fully understood what he was doing I feel in love with him. Tears have been pouring down my face since I heard. He is a beautiful man. A wonderful man. Intelligent men everywhere will wear these shoes as a statement of support to his beautiful and brilliant idea. I see the archetype of King Arthur in this man. If we support this, it can begin to change the world.Don't you want to change the world?

HealingMysticMelody Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - May you all be filled with love and light and peace. I'm going to post this video everywhere while this feeling is still fresh in my heart. He found his way to make a difference. He found his way to give to others and everything he sends out into the world will come back to him... multiplied. I am going to look at the design of these very carefully so I will be able to identify the shoe and notice which men are wearing them. :D <3
