Jul 7, 2008 - Could someone post the lyrics to this cadence or a link to the lyrics?
rgray215 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - I find this video inspiring. I'm working in becoming a Philadelphia Police officer. I'm sure we wont go through the type of training these guys went though or per-se as extreme. I'm sure we wont be doing a bad ass Cadence like this one sadly. I know I will be doing 30 weeks in the Academy, and hope they instill the same skill and knowlege that these men and woman went through to some extent. I expect to do two years with the city, and then possibly go for Penn State Trooper.

Jul 7, 2008 - Go fot it. RE the PA State Police-they will be very similar to this experience- very paramilitary. My friend is a Trooper and a former Marine, and he said that the PSP academy was worse than Parris Island-not to discourage you or anything-think of how well you will be trained and be a member of one of the finest state police agencies
rgray215 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - Thanks. Yes, so far my gameplan is the before mentioned. The only thing I don't like too much about the troopers, is that your a lone wolf out in the field. I see them everyday operating as such, where as the city police usually run 2 man teams per unit. I love the paramilitary atmosphere in this business though. I have all respect for DI's that do their jobs in making you a better person and opening the hidden inner strenghts within one self.

Jul 7, 2008 - I'm a Maryland State Police applicant myself. Good luck to you rgray215. I just came across this video a few days ago, I've watched it at least once a day since : ) Thanks for posting this video...great inspiration

Jul 7, 2008 - The CHP is hands down the best state law enforcement agency in the nation.
rgray215 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - I can agree.I think they represent greatness, although the International Association of Chiefs of Police elected Washington State Police as the best state uniformed agency.
rgray215 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - Thank you jrlons78 and good luck with the steps though your app and tests with Maryland State Police. I don't blame you for watching this video often. It kinda keeps you pumped.
elsamuraiguapo Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - That's a joke, the CHP has a much greater job and responsibility. CA's highways are far more populated and hazardous. The CHP also gets into more high-speed pursuits than any other LE agency in the world. They're the best trained LE drivers too.
rgray215 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - I don't disagree with you, seeing I envy this video. I wouldn't go to say what jobs as far as state police work is the hardest in CT. But I would say by the looks of what I see in this video, that their academy is pretty rough. I have been watching Fox's reality on Calif's largest Sheriffs Dept (LASD) and their academy looks pretty tough and not just juiced for TV. There is something about military or even paramilitary training that pumps me up.
rgray215 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - Also any State Police that are stationed around large metro city areas or low poverty level cities are going to deal with all the different crimes vs the State Troopers that are stationed in country areas. That goes for any state..... Now see what you did, my email prompt me that you left a messege, now I am watching the video again :o)
elsamuraiguapo Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - BTW, are you a LEO? Or perhaps a prospective one?
USABillOfRights Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - "Criminal Justice" has become a lucrative industry in the U.S. We award "degrees" in "Criminal Justice" to community college kids who used to be called the "farm school" students, and encourage them to lie, deceive, do whatever they have to to make arrests, and feed the system of courts, jails, prisons--at taxpayers' great expense. Police now create crime where there was none before.
IamBozak Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - And once again stupid officers attack. CT is not a state of all white males, so no the CT troopers do not best represent the community. And what does their training have to do with ethnic and gender diversity, are you saying that only white males can meet the standards? You're an asshole and grow up dont belong in the same sentence. Unless of coarse, you are the child. So can any of you neanderthal cops honesty challange my statements? Can you guys debate? or do you just attack? Lets see.
rgray215 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - Criminal Justice degrees arn't awarded "degrees" are earned. That post is random, and represents nothing to this video. I'm sure if would stay out of trouble with the law, or not put yourself in the eye of the law, then you wouldn't have anything to say.
rgray215 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - No haha, Cancer
rgray215 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - IamBozak, who are you referring to? This seems rather random. Your statements don't appear to reflect what anyone said, nor this video.
statepolice012 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - i thank god im not in the state police academy anymore. it was an experience that you forget
pduf Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - 6:45 when the cadence starts the "gain step, gain step, gain step your left" and every troopers left foot is hittin' the ground... That was tighter than a snare drum...hail, hail, state police...
kingtut71111 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - Does anyone know where I can obtain the lyrics, or words, to this cadence?
jeremy0462 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - Just got back from youth week at the academy and it was awesome, and it is not "gain step" it is "get in step", and the best way to get the lyrics is join up and go to the academy
dawnmarie1130 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - To anyone who thinks being a Ct State Trooper is a piece of cake think again. These people put their lives on the line to serve and protect us on a daily basis. They never know what can happen to them for a routine traffic stop. Would you want to be in their shoes 24 hours a day 7 days a week, because technically, thats what they do. Just because they aren't in uniform every minute of every day doesn't mean that they don't live it like that.
dawnmarie1130 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - how can you say something like that?...is it something that you regret?...my bf is a state trooper and i do know it was extensive training(going from a city pd) but i doubt very much that he would ever say something like that. I myself am very proud of him for going the next step and fulfilling his dreams
rgray215 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - Agreed 100%. Their is no such "animal" as a routine stop, as each one could be a possible pandoras box. This goes for any State Trooper agency and police in general. The thing that makes it tougher for A Trooper, is that they usually travel as Lone Wolves and any backup needs to be radioed in.
