I purchased these off Ebay, and have been waiting almost 3 weeks to get them all the way from Thailand (first red flag!) They are genuine FAKES! They have no color name on the labels/stickers, only a sticker on the bottom of the box and the bottom of the jar w/ a number. All the other little things that make it a genuine MAC product are missing as well, such as markings under the lid, spelling on the back of the bottles, and the most telling sign of all - NO COLOR PAYOFF! NONE!! Here is the ebay seller who ripped me off:http://myworld.ebay.com/tanaput2007/I figured for $5 each (including shipping) if they were even DECENT pigments I would keep them and use them, but they are 100% CRAP! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! If it's too good to be true, it probably is.

Oct 12, 2008 - Excuse me? I've bought plenty of makeup from China and H.K (Palettes, false eyelashes, eyeliner) and there was nothing wrong with them. I admit there are MANY fakes, but if people would use THEIR common sense and buy from power sellers rather than people who has less then 200 feedback, they would have been fine.

Oct 12, 2008 - woah, that's upsetting. Before viewing this video, a while back I actually bought glitter from Philippines for 5$ & Free S/H. umm, that's gonna suck. but hey I got my mother in-law, that'd be her Xmas present :).
suushee Says:
Oct 12, 2008 - And to the poster of this video, why are you blaming the thailand seller for ripping you off? $5 for a MAC pigment? COME ON. You should have known there and then that it was FAKE pigment. So basically it's YOUR fault, and you just fell into her trap.

Oct 12, 2008 - Thanks so much for the positive comment, and thanks for watching the entire vid, obviously you missed the part where it was an AUCTION not a buy-it-now price. Anyway, lovely to meet you and have a great day!

Oct 12, 2008 - Suushee,Well maybe you like that kind of cheapo makeup ,made in god knows what "hygienic conditions".These fakes contain UNTESTED,DUBIOUS INGREDIENTS!Also the counterfeiters use child labour in production of these fakes! If you are happy to buy from HK/China... then that's your choice as4 powersellers knightbidding, was a powerseller on ebay UK,she sold 1000ds of fakes before she was NARUD by eBay :)read some of the eBay,guides peeps before you buy MAC,Lancome etc!:)
CiaoItalia04 Says:
Oct 12, 2008 - Mindy, cheers for that video :) and Suushee, don't be so quick to judge peeps! Some sellers especially the chinese, thai etc not too mentione us sellers advertise their auction as "BRAND NEW,SEALED,AUTHENTIC MAC PALETTE,PIGMENT ETC"so peeps will be conned as it is very difficult to tell a fake from a photo!I would also advice NOT to buy any MAC,MAKEUP brushes at at all from eBay!99%are fakes.Just remember this 1 MAC,face powder brush costs£27,and look @this seller gg65655,previous sales! All fakes

Oct 12, 2008 - Cheapo makeup? Wow, how rude. You just insulted some youtube gurus on here. Being a makeup blogger myself, when makeup are sold out on certain websites, I turn to Ebay. Just like how the 88 eyeshadow palette was sold out on CS, people bought from Ebay. Same palette, same color payoff, the only bad thing was sometimes it came shattered. I use this palette everyday, and nothing has happened to my skin. I bought from a Hong Kong seller fyi.

Oct 12, 2008 - I can't believe how quick people are to judge when Asia is brought up. Sure Asia sells fake stuff, EVERY damn place does. This just shows how small minded people are with their biased opinions.
connieyumm Says:
Oct 12, 2008 - & Ciao, 99% of MAC makeup sold on Ebay are fakes? WOW, you must've had a whole bunch of horrible buying experience to say that, or you're just blind. It's your responsibility as a buyer to ask the seller questions, why do you think the "Ask the seller a question" link is there? For you to use. If the seller isn't willing to provide any infomation/pictures then you can assume it's fake. Why generalize HK/China as bad just because of people who never attempt to ask sellers questions.
CiaoItalia04 Says:
Oct 12, 2008 - Con,if you are happy with buying from Asia then that is fine. Most countefeiters ill gotten gains go towards funding terrorism and other dubious activities. Please don't make this into some racial issue that I have with Asia, cos I don't.Authentic MAC,products are never tested on animals do you get the same assurance from a fake? Also MAC,Viva Glam, products contributes every penny from their sales to their AIDS Found ,which helps fighting Aids,Malaria and TB,in many countries.

Oct 12, 2008 - oh poor you. I understand your pain. mac pigments are just so amazing and then you get this crap.
CiaoItalia04 Says:
Oct 12, 2008 - Mindy,My sis bought on eBay UK,MAC black liquid eyeliner, the auction/description showed photo of authentic MAC,it was only when it arrived that we saw it was a fake! Some sellers are really devious regardless if they come from eBay,UK,US,China,Thailand or HK.Some sellers even put fake location on their auctions such as UK,so buyers will be fooled that they purchasing from UK,seller :(

Oct 12, 2008 - just bought today here in philippines its php 1,100 so its 20usd something, im happy about it and it looks like they will last forever.im a victim of e bay also geeeeeeeeeeeeeee
mindylcarter Says:
Oct 12, 2008 - yes, a few in sample jars, so i had some idea of the quality I *should* have gotten.
mindylcarter Says:
Oct 12, 2008 - i'm glad you are happy with them, I was in an auction situation, and entered the highest price i would pay, which was obviously much more than what I ended up paying...because I thought I was bidding on genuine MAC products. That is why I was so frustrated. But for the $5 per jar that I ended up paying, I guess they were worth that much. But when a product is advertised as MAC, and you don't get authentic product, it's very frustrating, not to mention illegal on the part of the seller.
mindylcarter Says:
Oct 12, 2008 - I asked the question of the seller, but they never responded. I did not 'assume' they were fakes just because they did not respond before auction end. Who knows why people don't respond, maybe they had a family emergency, maybe their email is down, etc. Those who are not crooks do not automatically assume that others are.
suicarina Says:
Oct 12, 2008 - are they going to pay you back or?
hnm870113 Says:
Oct 12, 2008 - That is so true! I have looked at so many brushes that claim to be MAC brushes that don't have the right numbers on them and look nothing like a MAC brush. I send the sellers messages telling them that those are in no way authentic MAC brushes!

Oct 12, 2008 - I have found a few sellers on Ebay selling lots of MAC eyeshadows (from HongKong). They are selling 24 pigments for £39.00GBP and free P+P (that's around 80USD ish). I think these are fake... I looked at their feedback. They have 22 positives and each one... the person only has 1 feedback from the original seller. They all have similar names with 5 numbers at the end of the username. So me thinks this person is a con ebayer making up fake accounts and leaving themselves feedback to convince u.
