SkippyNewbaum Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - The Zimbabwe's UN Ambassador says there is free press for Zimbabwe on the Internet. That's because the government hasn't found the people who started those sites yet.

Doyaman Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - The UK and US are orchestrating plans to overthrow the President MUGABE because he is fighting against their imperialistic and racist status quo. Those western countries are backing the "opposition" to attack the government of MUGABE because he is taking the lands stolen by whites to give to the Africans. Not only that, they ( western countries) are scare to see the tremendous mineral resources shift to the Chinese,Iranian,African countries.

SkippyNewbaum Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Doyaman, you don't know what is happening in Zimbabwe. Mugabe's police violently broke up a multi-denominational prayer meeting March 11, describing it as a banned demonstration. Two pro-democracy activists died and Morgan Tsvangirai, leader of the main opposition Movement for Democratic Change, and a dozen senior colleagues were hospitalized after beatings. The people of Zimbabwe don't want his corrupt rule any longer!

tyciol Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Yeah that's gotta be it.

GTOJudge Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Give me a break. This idiot has destroyed Zimbabwe. The country has over 4000% inflation. FOUR THOUSAND PERCENT. There is no excuse.

molindah Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Yeah but 4000% inflation is a result of sanctions that were imposed on Mugabe and Zimbabwens because he did'nt want them poking around in the affairs of a democratic and sovereign state. Mugabe probably knows better and history will be the judge. The course of africa's problem is "white africans".

doctreads Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Zims economy started plummenting way before the sanctions. Besides, Zim has other trade links in the Asia pacific. Rhodesia had massive sanctions in the late 70's but it got around them BECAUSE THE COUNTRY WAS A PRODUCER BACK THEN. There are no oil embargos but Zim has no fuel, no sanctions from Kariba either but there is no electricity, no sanctions on its own land, yet it cant grow enough to feed its own. The sanctions on Zimbabwe leave the country with many options to get around them.

zveez Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - the war in congo ,his marrage to a young woman(who is a thief and a liar) ,the issuing of $50 000 zim to war vets and the simple fact that bob does not have the qualification to run a country (he may be able to run a school) .I think Bob did this to his own country .Its time we realise that you do not eat patriotism .we need a renaissance man like MUTAMBARA.

mondxx Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Where I disagree with SkippyNewbaum is western powers and government DONT GIVE A TOSS about the repression that is happening in Zimbabwe. They just care about their money and their bottom line. To Doctreads, aparthied and feudal free labour IS NOW ILLEGAL.

cherryplum22 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - mugabe u are a CRIMINAL

autum1515 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - you are correct with that figure.

autum1515 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - the farms were taken from the whites and given to blacks and now food production has dropped 40% !!! how is that the white man's fault?! though blacks were the ones who were actually farming the lands! so its not like there aren't blacks there that dont know how to farm it properly! no more aid to africa, sever all ties including imports and exports. they can do it without whitey according to them.

noolympics Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Strateically, this is a bad idea. Cause if the West pull out, the Chinese communists will move in. The dictatorships in these countries will become communists. The communist alliance will grow bigger and eventually they will all possess nuclear weapons. The people in Africa will suffer cause all the resources will be used for weapon development.

SkippyNewbaum Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Mondxx, where did I say that western governments cared about what is happening to Zimbabwe? Governments don't have allies, they only have interests. Right now Paris Hilton doing jail time is more of a concern to them than helping the people of Zimbabwe.

Th3GPR Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Skip, you put your finger on it: No matter what shocking statistics are presented about the terrible state of Zimbabwe, nobody will do a damn thing about it. Why? NOBODY LISTENS OR CARES! They didn't listen 40 years ago when many people speculated about the future of Zimbabwe; they didn't listen 30 years ago as Mugabe rose to power, fully supported by Britain I might add; they didn't listen 20 years ago as the fan started to turn; they didn't listen 10 years ago as the shit started to hit it.

Th3GPR Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Will they listen now? No, because Zimbabwe doesn't immediately affect anyone in the West. Not even the purveyors of the so-called "War On Terror" have considered Robert Mugabe's terrorist activities as something to be so much as sniffed at ... (after all, there's no oil in Zimbabwe, is there?)4000% inflation, 700000 people losing their homes ... Psht, let's all, as you say, get back to worrying about Paris in her jail cell rather.

fixzimbabwe Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Boniface strikes a poor figure, as poor as Zimbabwe itself. Mister Neuer touched the sore tooth of the Human Rights Council.

anesuchiedza Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Blacks really didn't get farms, I mean Mugabe and his government got the farms, and did nothing with them. Please don't blame all of us blacks, my family had nothing to do with this, we never supported land grabbing. After all jobs were lost. What is done by a few individuals should not stereotype the rest of us.

moviedude111 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - The Chinese are in fact moving in. Too late, what will be interesting though is how the Chinese will teat them. Giving there history of human rights violations.
