Oct 11, 2008 - I saw her name credited on the Blackbyrds - City Life album. I'm not sure but I think she did the girl vocals on Rock Creek Park.

Oct 11, 2008 - yeah she was!! not the vocals though...her keyboard work was credited from Prestige records...artists did this back in the day...she played the keyboards...
darkmidgetman1 Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - This song was super hot back in '82... I remember it getting just as much air-play as Forget Me Not by S.C. DJ's.

Oct 11, 2008 - This was the song used in every fashion show in the 80s lol. Patrice Rushen is so talented.
DRsports8 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Amazing---one of the best instrumental jams of the 80's. So underrated, it's not even funny. People (not in the know) think she had just one hit with "Forget Me Nots", but talk about sheer talent!

ShangoDC Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Yeah, Patrice was/is a serious jazz piano player and composer. Here first few albums back in the day were jazz, before she went commercial with the R&B. She still played a lot of jazz piano and wrote jazz pieces with other artist. I saw her, stanley clarke and lenny white play some traditional jazz in a small club in DC a year ago and it was amazing music.

Oct 11, 2008 - When this album came out, this selection just didn't get the air time it deserved. It was truly number ONE and the best cut on the whole album. She really demonstrates her complete command of the keyboards. Bravo!

Oct 11, 2008 - Wow Imerica1, you are just like me! I was jamming to stuff like this when I was little. Loved jazz at about 6 in the 70's. And you ain't lying, today's music is made by kids and they don't know JACK about REAL music.

Oct 11, 2008 - I was aware of Patrice Rushen's incredible musical talent from her amazing recordings with Jean-Luc Ponty, but I'd never seen a good picture of her and I didn't realize she was also such a strikingly cute and beautiful woman! What a babe! I think I'm gonna faint. Just kidding. But thanks Patrice, for all you are! And thanks to the poster for putting up some good music here.
