Bob was a great guy , great , magician, and great entertainer. Here is a clip from 1997 at a private dinner party in New York where a select few top NY magical entertainers were requested to perform. Bob's performance here includes his terrific 3 frog monte routine.

Oct 12, 2008 - I loved Wonderama on Sunday mornings & hearing the song "Kids Are People Too" as a kid. The show had balloons, games, songs and provided super fun for kids. There was the great game for prizes to find 1 can of flowers out of many cans of stuffed wacky snakes. Saddening to hear Bob McAllister died in 1998. However, he looked happy at the end of his life as this nice clip indicates. :)

Oct 12, 2008 - Bob McAllister and Wonderama were great for me as a kid. I remember the baloons, games and songs well. The game of picking the can of flowers out of many cans of wacky snakes was my favorite. I just learned of Bob's death in 1998 but this clip shows he was happy at the end of his life. It's good to know that. :)

Oct 12, 2008 - I grew up in NY and went on Wonderama in the third grade and I wore an orange corduroy bellbottom jumpsuit and I remember telling Mr. McAllister that he looked older in person then on tv (I was 8). He was so nice! He let me do the twist in the dance segment in front of everyone. If anyone has that clip, please post it!

Oct 12, 2008 - I remember Bob McAllister when he hosted Wonderama and Kids are People Too. He was a very multi-talented person who had a great rapport with the studio audience when he hosted those shows. its a shame that he passed away almost 10 years ago. He would have been a top candidate, despite his age to replace Bob Barker on The Price is Right. His Wonderama experience and the ability to learn the rules to a large number of games would have been a great asset. We miss you Bob.

Oct 12, 2008 - Prior to "Wonderama" and "Kids Are People Too" Bob got his first regular television job in the 1950's hosting a program on WTAR in Norfolk, Virginia. The "Bob and Chauncey Show" paired Bob with his wise-cracking dummy, Chauncey. I was one of the kids in the studio audience and later, as a teenage magician, performed on the same bill with Bob. What a thrill. I will always remember him as the best children's comedy magician I ever saw. He had such a fantastic rapport with his audience.

Oct 12, 2008 - Thank you for posting this delightful clip. Taking a moment to remember what I can of the show (lots of wacky stunts with participation of children from the studio audience, lots of balloons, etc) as well as his theme song "Kids are People Too!" I'm reminded of how important it is that we do all we can to cultivate the Joy and Wonder in our children the way people like Bob McAllister did for children like myself so long ago.
