Deidara blew himself cause he was pretty much out of juice and didnt know what to do anymore. He blew himself cause Sasuke pushed him to his limit... and Itachi simply killed himself by transfering his eye techniques to Sasuke. From what i know , its quite normal to want revenge when ur whole clan was murdered by your "kind" big brother.
