Four white lion cubs are forming part of an extensive white lion breeding program underway at a South African Park. For centuries rumours of mysterious white lions circulated in South Africa. Claims of sightings of the white lion started to surface in 1928. Scattered reports continued but confirmation that these animals were really white did not come until 1975 when a litter containing two white cubs was seen at Timbavati Game Reserve, adjacent to Kruger National Park. Several lions still survive from the original strain, all in captivity, and the breeding of white lions in various zoos around the world must be handled very carefully. www.itnsource.comReuters 12074/04

Oct 12, 2008 - they don't look like polar bears.my friends dad took care of an abandaned polar bear cub for three days...he was so cute! and even though he wasn't that big, he was very aggressive,so he was in a cage most of the time.

Oct 12, 2008 - Actually breeding programs make sure that the two white lions that are breeding are genetically differentiated to a certain degree to keep the babies from becoming deformed and inbred. It is perfectly safe and takes a lot of time in order to make sure the parents are differentiated enough. But yes, when white lions are not in a special program they are inbred and deformed.

If you are reading this dirtyvarmint1, if you have hair or eyes any other color than brown then you would be considered deformed in some parts of the world.
