Part 10Eating disorders affect five million people in the U.S., and more than 10% of those diagnosed with anorexia nervosa will die from the disease. Seeking to put a human face on these sobering statistics, acclaimed photographer Lauren Greenfield went inside a Florida treatment center to tell the stories of four women who are literally dying to be thin. The devastating HBO documentary THIN reveals what she found there - and explores the issues underlying their illness.

yumyumitscake Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Brittany is a fucking wanker

raven9307 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Hope those snitch bitches are happy now. Now Polly is dead. Telling on someone else in no way helps your own recovery.

xoxAngelFirexox Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - It's not the facilty's fault! They were doing all they could to help her - to help all of the patients. You think that it's one-sided and it's only the patients having a hard time. They need to put other patients in consideration. If Polly influences them badly then it's jepordizing all of their health. It's Polly's choice whether she wants to try and be strong or not. She killed herself. Not the doctors. And I think her family was failing to take some responsibility for her recovery.

xoxAngelFirexox Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - I feel so sorry for them. I almost cried at the end.I feel sorry for the 28-year old. I mean she's 28 and she looks 15 and it probably makes her feel horrible. She says she's "a little girl with no period". I feel so bad because it's probably way too late to change that. You stop growing at a certain age and she's past that age. She could have been much more womanly looking if she never had an eating disorder.Poor girls. Man I'd hate to live that kind of life..

Jul 7, 2008 - To hear a fifteen year saying she wants to die...it breaks my heart.

amarettosour89 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - i agree with some other people who said britany wants attention. i also thinks she wants validation from her mom for losing weight. i could be wrong. it is just that her mom has an eating disorder and if you saw in earlier posts, her eating habits are presented right in front of britany.

RiseAgainstFan13 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Britany is so beautiful, so fucking beautiful and I only wish I could look like her. I relate so much to what she's saying, I dunno... It pisses me off that she has to leave because of money issues.

caligal215 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - obviously its their fault when she died a few years after this was filmed.

laurenasia Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - If you go to Lauren Greenfields' Thin documentary on myspace Brittany is one of her top friends

Pinklucy38 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - I have recently created a pro-recovery forum for people suffering/recovering from an eating disorder. If you would like the url for the forum feel free to message me as Youtube won't let me post links on here.Take care :)

xsnugglebunnix Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - how is it their fault?...if someone's putting other patients' lives at risk and is being uncooperative then they should be seen as a hazard and removed...she broke alot of rules that were put in place for her safety and that of the staff and patients. How is it their fault that she died....IT WAS SUICIDE

getit8192 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - woooww i completely understand where that girl brittany is coming from. HOWEVER, she needs to get it together. no seriously, in the beginning of the movie i heard her asking how much the treatment was costing and her mom wouldnt tell her. I think that she should because that might light a fire under her ass atleast for the time being. those places are ridiculous! money-wise i mean. and since that place is really good its probably upwards of 900 dollars a day!!

getit8192 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - im just saying, shes soo lucky to be there and it makes me mad to see her not try when there are so many other girls who would die to get better and are begging for help and she sits ther in one of the best recovery stations in the US and dousnt accept help.i know what shes going through and i know that when u r going thrugh these things they start turning into ur only enjoyment and its all u have... but come on, at least try..for me and girls like me who would kill to be in ur shoes getting help

nicolettenoree3 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - it hurts so much how i feel the same that brittany does alot of the time..it makes me wonder if i'm really in recovery or just playing myself

kakkadu22 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - the things brittany says made me crybecause thats how i fell

AnaMiaSucks Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Polly Ann Williams died Feb. 8 at her home in Hixson, Tennessee. She was 33. Part of me thinks that if she hadn't been kicked out then maybe she'd still be alive.

CordsZ Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - Can I mention how much it pisses me off that the insurance companies won't fund a full treatment period?! They'll spend so much money on noncompliant diabetics and drug addicts who relapse time and time again, but God forbid they leave an anorexic in treatment for a full 90 days.

sopreciousmex3 Says:

Jul 7, 2008 - it breaks my heart to hear brittany like that cuz thats how i feel...

PrettyPillz Says:
