Oct 13, 2008 - sakai is the best ace of te world war 2
eprisband Says:
Oct 13, 2008 - Any history of the air war in WWII is incomplete without Sakai and Nishizawa on page one. Men like him and Joe Foss fought the good fight even when their equipment was not up to the game. And they fought it with honour.

Oct 13, 2008 - japan always hidding the fact, if pug's 50 caliber mags did not jammed caused hit by tail gunner of betty bomber, saburo will been a history.....
redbirdsexpress Says:
Oct 13, 2008 - saburo got lucky...but again..SKILL to fly the plane back with no vision!! god damn.
RumAndNitro Says:
Oct 13, 2008 - Nicely done video. I love the realism of the aerial scenes, and they even did a credible job of capturing Saburo Sakai's likeness with computer imagery. But they were way off the mark with Pug's appearance. I hope it was just an innocent mistake on the Japanese filmmaker's part and not an overtly racist charicature of an American. Compare a picture of the real Pug Southerland with this video's pilot and you'll see what I mean.

WilliamBrothers Says:
Oct 13, 2008 - Sakai was one heck of a shot if he went straight for the engine to knock it out and avoid killing the pilot.

Oct 13, 2008 - sakai the samurai
darkwhisper007 Says:
Oct 13, 2008 - The face of Mr Southerland surely has an exaggeration. The producer would want to express the robust man who cornered a subordinate of Sakai.
GoldenSlumbers109 Says:
Oct 13, 2008 - thats awsome how there just staring at eachother
lemonite1 Says:
Oct 13, 2008 - i don't know if it ended like this. i think Pugs got in some shots on Sakai's A6m2. I think both men were forced to the silk. Both were great pilots, good video. F4F was kinda tricky to manoever, Zero obviously was'nt.
1pLUs44 Says:
Oct 13, 2008 - No Pugs had no ammo. Sakai got wounded later but made it back to base.
cleekmaker00 Says:
Oct 13, 2008 - Keep in mind that after this dogfight, Sakai was seriously wounded after attacking SBD Dauntless dive bombers, mistaking them for Wildcats. With a bullet wound THROUGH his head, he somehow managed to fly 560 nautical miles back to his base at Rabaul and LAND!What an aviator!

Oct 13, 2008 - Sakai is a samurai. He fought in the Iwo Jima sky.He is an old human being. However, therefore there is human nature.Japanese most do not know him now. I am deplorable.
giovmari Says:
Oct 13, 2008 - Honour? now? ... only money is interesting but things are going to change.
