Jul 7, 2008 - What an idiotic coroner, does it really matter if he died of AIDS? How disappointing. The guy in the green shirt, is so rude and disrespectful. Doesn't matter if Liberace died of AIDS or not, he will still be remembered for his great performances.

Jul 7, 2008 - an "opportunistic disease" ? What a slap in the face. How disrespectful. I believe also that he was much more than "screaming queen". Whatever. This video angers me.

Jul 7, 2008 - I love how Rachmaninoff prelude is playing in the background. The topic Rach used for that peice was death and transiguration

Jul 7, 2008 - This is in VERY BAD taste. Why can't you let the poor man rest in peace? It was and is private.
algerfrenchie Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - It also angers me! It is and was no ones business. Let the poor man rest in peace. Why can't the general public enjoy something without bringing it down?
romber58 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - "A screaming Queen on stage",would have been an excellent title for a Freddie Mercury solo album, hehe
MissGreenie Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - I am in agreement of many folks here. Why did the coroner need to have a press conference... he did admit it was ego. His wishes should of been followed. Why did he HAVE to have an autopsy.. surely he didn't die in questionable circumstances?

Jul 7, 2008 - (3 of 3)I think this might have led to some of Lee's over-the-top and exaggerated conduct on stage. When a person has to deny who they are seems it can really play with the mind. Anyway, I hope that coroner is happy with his fame and that he has nightmares when he sleeps. Liberace has left a legacy in that he is a hard act to follow. I think and there will never be another entertainer like him. God bless Liberace, may he finally rest in peace.
stillgotit01 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - (2 of 3)Due to the weakened state Lee was in it probably set up a prime situation for the AIDS/HIV virus to grow in Lee's body. I just wish they could have left Lee alone. It's bad enough that he was so violently attacked verbally back in 1956 by that closet case William Connor in his Cassandra column. Because of it and Lee's testimony in court he felt he couldn't ever openly discuss his sexuality.

Jul 7, 2008 - (1 of 3)Well we all know now from a trial or two how anxious people are to have their "15 minutes of fame." This Ray Carillo Coroner person just couldn't pass up his chance. That statement he made about an "opportunistic" disease. I did some research and it seems Lee was sick, he was suffering from serious lung problems, seems he was a heavy smoker.

Jul 7, 2008 - Nothing but a shameless show. Liberace was a kind and very nice person and loved everyone who spoke to him:Rev. Michael Capps, Ph.D

Jul 7, 2008 - I agree. Shameful,no respect for the dead. Especially for the BBC to rehash the loss of a beloved and private individual. I just decided to Turn off the t.v. and read, take up a hobby, volunteer, anything inspirational then watch trashy gossip programming. I could just puke...
flproctor Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - Poor man. No respect for him, the way they exploited his illness. May he rest in peace now.
Dogheadj Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - Disgusting behavior on the part of the coroner and the press. Lee was a fantastic entertainer. Who cares if he was gay or not. I mean, it was fairly obvious from the first that he was gay, wasn't it?
karatekoop Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - Maybe obvious from the stereotype of "gay" men to be flaming with such attire, however he will always be remembered for his music which was truely his life and I don't think that anyone who appreciates music would ever judge him by his lifestyle and those that do simply do not have the courage to accept a person for who they are inside. "Judge not lest ye be judged" I think pertains here.
ScotchyMcDewars1979 Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - The Coroners should be ashamed of themselves. The man wanted to be left alone. They should have respected his wishes. A man can't even die in peace..
