Oct 13, 2008 - It was an attempt to put a meaningful picture as the thumbnail -- it failed by a few seconds because I either miscalculated or somewhere during rendering (on my computer or at YouTube) a few extra seconds got slapped on the end of the video.

Oct 13, 2008 - doesn't 8 to the power of zero equal zero?
Russoft Says:
Oct 13, 2008 - punch it in on a calculator or search "8^0" on google. Anything to the power 0 is 1.

Oct 13, 2008 - Teaching people the fundamentals of number bases is definitely the right way. I've seen lots of people getting completely dumbfounded from trying to manipulate numbers in base 2, because instead of looking at a number of digits they think of them as bits which are on or off. When people are shown the system of bases they suddenly realize they already know how to do all the arithmetic operations, in base 10, and things fall into place and suddenly they will master all numerical bases.
