From Episode 236 (subbed)Luffy is convinced the Straw Hat's ship, Going Merry, is not strong enough to withstand the furthur seas. He feels they are too rough, so he decides to give up the ship.However, Usopp feels the exact opposite way. Kaya gave him the Going Merry, so he is convinced the ship is a nakama and is strong. Usopp leaves the crew, but not before dueling Luffy over the Going Merry.NOTE: The Water 7 arc is the best One Piece arc. The entire crew falls apart. It's awesome.
